How did that 1st half Fumble not belong to the Pats

jayr and pushing-it, don't worry, you'll have the rest of your life to whine about that call.  This loss is going to hurt a long long time for Pat fans.  Instead of 19-0 they are an embarrassing 18-1 and walked off the field with egg on their face.  On top of that, their so-called dynasty is now permanently tarnished with new allegations and proof of cheating coming out every day. 


The Patriots never had control over the ball, get over it because you will never be able to get over this loss

HAHAHA. This thread had nothing to do with complaining saying this play blew the game for the Pats. Far from it. Just tried to udnerstand the reasoning on the play.

Oh and i will hardly lose any sleep over this loss. Yes 18-1 is not 19-0 but this was far from an embarassing season. Does a team that goes 15-0 and loses in the last game call that embarassing. No. You are an idiot.

Tarnishing a Dynasty. Give me a break. You know that every single team in the NFL tries to steal the opposing teams signals during the game right. It's a part of the game. Yes the Pats over stepped the rules and got ounished for it, but that hardly gave them an unfair advantage. It was used for advance scouting, not in game adjustments. Get your facts straight.

Oh and this team is coming back next year. They will re-sign Moss and Samuel and i'd be shocked if they arent the best team in the NFl next year. So dont worry. When i say there is always next year, i really mean that.

Didnt see it. But 15 yards is hardly equivalent to a TO at your own 31.

You're making  way  too  much  of  a  big  deal about this play.
 
Bottom line,,,,  the  refs  call  it  as  they  see  them,,,,  and  25  drunks  in a garage do  a lot of  peeing.

that call and the push off face mask means that the Refs were fixing the game

Clearly this guy loves the patriots tom brady is probably on his screensaver.Jayr i must agree though it was a bad call,but they took an a$$ whippin let it go until next season buddy.

So blatant and clear as day penalties on Pats not being called (the guy grabbed his facemask and pulled it back) is fine and dandy but if they happen to miss a call during a pileup, it's a fix?

you know nothing about this sport. i call it like i see it. when bradshaw fumbled that ball the ne player was all over it. but how did bradshaw end up with it. maybe he asked nicely for it back.

Its funny how when you are biased towards a team you tend to see things different.  I saw a N.E. player fall on the ball but you cannot see where the ball is.  The way Bradshaw scooped the ball so quickly makes me believe that it was laying underneath a body which is clearly no possesion.  Without actually seeing the ball, there is no way you can overturn that call not one referee in the league would do that.  Look at it from another point of view.  If you see bradshaw holding the ball and walking away from the pile and they give it to N.E., the giants could have reviewed it because the only clear shot of the possesion is when Bradshaw recovered the fumble.  With all due respect, I don't see how it could be any other way...

Even if they sign Moss for next year do you really think they can even come close to this year.  Everyones play calling will change and they won't be able to get their hands on any new videos.  Even if they do get into the playoffs I can't see them doing much different then what happened this year.  Their defense is old and the Super Bowl shows what happens when you have a great offense and an old and overrated defense.  If the offense falters a little then the defense has to step it up but when your entire defense is nearly old enough to collect social security it just isn't going to happen.  Offense might make you look good in the regular season but  the real teams step it up in the playoffs.  Besides, the pats linebacker probably gave Bradshaw the ball because he thought he broke his hip when he landed on the ball.

I disagree, I think it would have been overturned. But the game was 3 days ago so I'm rooting for GB to make a few good drafts and trades over the off season.

Watching the game live it looked as though Pats guy definitely had it.  On replay during SB it still looked as though he had it but thought it was impossible to overturn and after watching the game over again and going back and forth it was apparent that Pats player pinned his own left arm underneath him and lost control of the ball as a result.  There was/were no conclusive eveidence/camera angles that showed that the Pats guy had possession of the ball thus impossible to overturn if reviewed 100 times.  Tough break for Pats but Giants had their share of tough breaks all game namely that legit but questionable call of illegal touching of the ball by Bradshaw which when watched again in slow mo over and over frame by frame it is not clear where he was reaching to scoop the ball towards him or purposely bat it out of bounds or down the field/.  If you go back and look at it the Pats def. player could not have held him anymore preventing bradshaw from completely having control of his arm.  The 12 men on the field was a ridiculous challenge and a bad break though legit...just hard to challenge.  If not a punt there would never be that much time to watch so many replays...the guy's foot was a split second from being off the field.  They had minutes for the pats guys upstairs to look at that one

Yeah,  when  I  saw  the  play  live,,,,,  I   thought,,,OH SHIT ! ! !
 
Then,  when  the  giants  were awarded  the  recovery,,,  I  thought  how in  the  shit  did  the  Patriot player NOT  grab  the ball......  But ,  there  was  no  argument,,,,  there  was really  no
careful  replay . and  there  certainly was  no  challenge.
It must  have  been  more  clear on the  field  of  play than viewing  it on  live  TV.  
 
I  mean,  really....  if  Belichick throws  a  challenge  on  a guy  hustling  off the  field with  half a  shoelace still "officially"  in  the  field of  play ,,,,  why  was  there no  challenge  or  major argument?
