Write ups are worthless, i see all the touts make statements with all their write ups an guess what, the results are the same.

It’s about money the majority of time.

The Jags were within the number for about 28 minutes of game time.

I don't think the issue is that people needed reasons to support a play on the Jags, I don't think you could justify it.  But there were reasons to not play the Giants, like their inconsistency, and that they are just not that good.

I enjoy the write ups. I just wish you could stop betting on horrible football teams. Its almost like you look at the card and pick the worst team listed and try to make a case for them covering.

This game was 21-3, the giants quit, clearly handed to the Jags, and was capped correctly..Giants had the ball 1st and 10 on the jags 10 with 2:49 to play trailing by 2 POINTS..

The play calling was brutal and they ran no time off, kicked a fg, and lost in backyard fashion 4 down territory play.. theres no excuse for this Giants loss..

If the Giants quit, then it wasn't capped correctly because Scal was VERY CLEAR that the Giants motivation was a key part in them being able to cover the line.

The Jags are a bad football that got a few breaks, and capitalized on them vs. a mediocre (at best) Giants team.

Brutal beat, Scal. Giants killed a perfect 5-0 day for me too; wanna SCREAM.

No reason to stop posting though. What are u down 2 units on the season on very limited plays? Nothing to hang your head about. Bounce back strong, and make up those 2 units next weekend. Don't listen to these clowns. Dozens of people piling on and not one of them do I recognize for ever bringing any positive insight to this forum. F*ck em'.

Go read post #4 box. Don't make blanket statements about a long thread when you haven't even bothered to read it. box.

My bad. Apologies. I guess I was referring to the remaining 14 pages of hate that make it so hard to find the useful back and forth that should be present!

You made some very good points about the Giants, but let's take a look at the Jaguars: Jaguars played the TOUGHEST (#1) schedule in the league at 0.572. Of their 11 opponents, 5 teams are currently having a playoff spot and 9 out of these 11 (Indy twice) are still in the playoff hunt within one or two wins. Despite that tough schedule, they built a defense that was very solid. A German mathematical power rating I use for capping that focuses on the efficiency on every single down, has the Jaguars defense ranked at #14. Their biggest weakness is their defensive INT rate at 1.3%. The league's average is at 2.5%, so you could expect regression to the mean statistically.

Another point: This is a home game for Jacksonville, and they still want to give their fans something back. In their four home games this season, they lost badly to Indy (like the Giants), had a decent shot at beating Pittsburgh, won against Cleveland and OUTGAINED the Dolphins by 51 yards. They put 377 yards on the Fins top-3 defense. Their pass rush is very good, they are averaging 3 sacks per game (#3 in the league).

I watched their game against the Cowboys at Wembley. The only reason the Jaguars didn't cover was because they showed a tackling performance I've never seen this season. It was so bad. Please go back and watch the Cowboys scoring plays. For example the Jags missed FOUR tackles on Dez Bryant on his 35 yard TD. 30 yards were after the catch. That game could have come down to the wire with a better tackling performance.

There is no single reason to take the Giants on the road IMO. I think this is the best remaining spot for the Jaguars to get their second win of the season.

Just my input and lean on the game.

P.S. why do you keep wasting your time responding to these senseless commenty day in day out ? I don't get it. Just ignore them and you have more time talking about football.. for example with me after my post.

lesson is don't bet on meaningless NFL games coz you aren't in the front office. what would you do if you were the giants, you can beat the crap outta jax if you wanted to but that won't improve you for next year

whack em around for one half of football then tank the second half, they do put up halfitme lines scal and betting one friggin game on a card full of games won't make you fat and happy

stop putting so much energy and money into one game, oh except you aren't actually betting anything but i guess that's beside the point

Guys said: The Giants won't be motivated. 21 first half points later showed they came to play.

Guys lauded the Jags D: Which gave up those 21 points in one second quarter and then fumbles for TD's revitalize them. And those 3 TD's were all legit time consuming drives.

Guys said: The Giants have nothing to play for. They clearly tried to win the game.

    So let's recap:

21 pt lead? Gave it all back

2 fumble recoveries for TD's where fuckin* Giants are trying to PICK THE BALL UP in the end zone as though they are going to run 99 yards for a TD turning 2 pts for the Jags into 7.

Giants RB's trying to leap over Jaguars for an extra yard line at their own 49. That results in another TD.

It was so bad I was BEGGING for the Jags to convert the last two pt conversion.

Folks when you have to BEG for the other team to score, you know it's bad.

Lose your starting right tackle to start the game against a monster front line of the Jags. Nice.

Lose your RB at the start of the fourth, the guy who's scoring all the TD's for the Giants.

Have the Jaguars, a team that averages 14 pts a game make the biggest comeback in team history on the back of Giants fumbles.

Giants can put the game in a 'safe zone' (not out of reach but in great shape) with a FG in the fourth with a kicker who hasn't missed a FG all year. Have him pull a Scott Norwood.

Jags played great D right. How about the Giants 7 sacks, a season high.

All this adds up to a fu**ed up result that screws me once again.

This started in the Denver game vs. the Jets when the record was perfect and hasn't stopped since going all the way to the Giants not kicking a FG on the 5 to get inside the number (not necessarily wrong but to depend on their shitty red zone offense is a nightmare) to interceptions for the Bucs on the 5.

I can take one bad beat, two bad beats, three bad beats a year if I pick 50 games. Not when I pick 12.

    So I'm done for now.

No use in posting these games. Lots of time for write-ups for nothing. Not even sure if more than 10% of the posters read them, and I'm not even sure more than 5% comprehend them.

I don't necessarily believe in good luck or bad luck but when you are card dead at a poker table for 4 hours, you get up and leave and go to a new table.

To say that some trend about over .500 teams outweighs analysis about how a team will play, please. Ridiculous.

And then to have that trend hit when 2 fumble recoveries for TD's/missed FG's bring it home? Highly misguided as I've always said. Jags had one impressive drive and it was the last one where they could play for a win. I expect them to perform in that spot.

Look at the final score and believe you are a genius. See how you end up.

Why do a pages and pages of write-up breaking down all the finer points of the two teams (the Giants will come out motivated - they did. You'll have to win the game with an atrocious offense - True again. you needed two defensive TD's to win the game. The Jags will come out and be the Jags - they did. It was so bad the crowd gave a mocking cheer when they made it 21-3) when you can write a completely inaccurate paragraph, make a pick for the Jags and then have the game hit anyway on two fumble recoveries?

Please. It's a joke. Yes, today, the Giants bet was a "sucker" bet.Watch the games people. This isn't just a result oriented business. Analyze your plays and see how you cashed not just IF you cashed.

It's bad a karma for me with the way these games are panning out and posting in the NFL is a waste of time at this point.

5-7 on the year.  Always posted an honest record. ALWAYS post the line that is the line at the moment, not MY line that I got three days ago which no one cares about.

BeginnerBoy (has the best write-ups for the NBA/always a pleasure), Jail (covers police!), Summa (great write-ups), Composite (always respectful), WMI ((covers police part deux), lmb (always have comments I look into), nflcapper (funny thread today), Glyde (good capper), Figgity, Stee (another good capper), kevmod (who I actually get along with), papa (good NBA roundups this year, very helpful) etc. etc. etc. if I forgot anyone, sorry.

Taking a break. I'll be reading all your threads as I always do.

Sulking around the house in front of my family for 4 hours and the rest of the night is unfair because these fu**up Jets and Giants can't compete with the worst of the worst (correction: they themselves are the worst of the worst).

Let me make this clear, not a SINGLE DOPE above is doing any of this. I am shutting it down in the NFL and likely even CFB for now because the plays simply aren't cashing and honestly, watching some of them go down in flames the way they do is worse than labor pains for a woman having quintuplets.

Snowman, I believe I have 5 picks left:

I'll take (as my last six picks):

    Kings +4.5 over Grizzlies

    Lakers +7 over Raptors

Jets +7 over Dolphins (several sites have 7 and 6.5, if it is 6.5 at kickoff 6.5 it is. May as well go down with the pieces of shi* that brought me here).

Knicks +3.5 over Heat (another team that brought me here. Will go down with them. ).

Alabama -14 over Missouri (have to lay the chalk for all the BAD above)

    That should do it.

Have a good one and to all the detractors:

Hope the door heets you where the good lord spleet you (said with a Russian accent).

Weak sauce, hard to defend you with comments like this.  Its the NFL you can research all you want and look like smartest guy in the room for 55 minutes and still , sack up and take the  loss.  You keep backing terrible teams, this one on the road giving points.  You cant be surprised that GMen sh it the bed.

I actually appreciate scalabrine's write ups and he obviously has above average football knowledge but what bothers me is he always has these excuses because he mostly plays the jets and giants because he believes he gets value on their lines and yeah the giants do come out and play for a while the way he expected but then they go down and even do they do this time and time again he doesn't take it into consideration for his next write up.

Then he makes it seem like it was a bad beat. It is not a bad beat when that is the blueprint of these teams... They have bad habits and sooner or later they get screwed by their own bad habits.

You really need to stop saying you are getting bad beats and recognize you purposely or not don't take that factor in consideration.

Had to come back for this comment.

"jags were within the number for 28 minutes of game time"

That of course is taking a 0-0 first quarter into play.

So because a game starts 0-0, the side that takes the jags is justified somehow or legitimized before anyone even scores because the spread is +3 and therefore the Jags are inside the number for the time it takes the Giants to score.

Well I guess when Alabama plays Idaho and lays 50, the Idaho bettor can lose 57-0 on a Bama TD with 7 minutes left in the 4th can say, "hey come on now, I was inside the number for 53 minutes!"

And the second comment where I said the Giants would be motivated.

21-0 isn't motivated because the giants didn't score consistently for 60 minutes guys! I mean, two fumble recoveries for TD's aren't deflating!!!?!! And 21-0 of course means nothing. It's only about as much as a team this bad can score in 1/2 of football (this isn't the Packers we are talking about).

Dude, shut up before I have to tear you apart a third time.

The Jags are a bad football that got a few breaks, and capitalized on them vs. a mediocre (at best) Giants team.

Had to come back for this comment.

"jags were within the number for 28 minutes of game time"

Man, giants were motivated and you were right in a lot of things but they consistently have those deflating moments you just mentioned... Do you think they are the unluckiest team in the league? Or is that "who they are"?? you continue to ignore the fact that they break down.
