Seattle secondary matches up well with Atl WR/TE mix...I do like the Falcons here..

ok so back to back WC to EC means they're gonna lose. and just cuz ur coming off a bye means ur automatically gonna win?
im just saying..seattle is really really hot right now...and thats the best thing to have in the playoffs..ATL is good but not that good IMO..yes they're a beast at home but not unbeatable. their defense is not all that either...they're offensive is really explosive too but nothing seattle CANT handle. seattle has a much better defense (home or away) and a better run game and they're on fire right now. holla at me

my point being, traveling 8000 miles takes a toll on the human body regardless of the person. i dont care if youre a pro athlete and are conditioned. crossing 9 time zones in 5 days will take a toll on your body. then having to get up to play a playoff game at 10AM? that means you have to be up at 6 AM in seattle at latest to eat, head to the dome, get ready to play, then actually play the game. stats dont always tell the story. we saw what seattle has done in their only 1 pm est start this year and they lost to the dolphins

Excellent write-up and analysis Sammy.
My gut has Seattle + the points....but u offer a different perspective of the Falcons which is good to see.
I'll have to take a closer look at this game...initially I had Seattle winnin this one and losing their next to GB (assuming they beat SF).
One thing I did notice is that ATL def ranks in the mid 20's against the rush/pass yet their points allowed is ranked 5th best. The only way this formula works is with turnovers....and can u really rely on getting 3 turnovers consistently?

what is the dumbest thing ever is you saying that the loss of jason jones was nothing. you should go back and check your stats for the defensive linemen of the seahawks and see how jones compared to the other D tackles in regards to number of snaps and sacks, QB hits, and QB pressures. but this is the nfl right? and stats mean nothing. you should know, it seems you know it all

This is spot on. Seattle Secondary creates what DL needs, time to get to the QB.

Also, I don't think Clemmons being out is that much of a loss. He had 11.5 sacks this year, which ranks 9th in the league. 4 of those sacks came in the GB game, week 3. If you exclude that game he is 7.5 sacks for the year, which is mediocre at best. If you are generous and use 2 of them 9.5 is still not that great. ATL is not that great on D, giving up over 120 rushing yards a game and over 240 passing yards a game. The best thing ATL has going for them is their lack of penalties.

My logic is.....Consistency is a huge factor in professional sports. If you exclude that 1 game Clemmons is far from consistent. More so, my logic shows, that their D is clearly built around a strong secondary. Sacks are great, but they don't really need big sack numbers to be successful. Seattle had 38 sacks this year, which ranks 18th in the NFL. I really don't see Seattle struggling because Clemmons is out.

excellent write up. on ATL myself, not the best matchup for them tho. I think either Seattle controls the game and it ends in a FG, or ATL gets some quick scores, forces some turnovers, and its game over by halftime. All this ATL/Matt Ryan hasn't won a playoff game means nothing to me. If they lose it will be because they weren't able to stop the run. Past failures sometimes equals future success. The Dome will be rocking!
