I apologize in advance if this question has been asked or just seems ridiculous but have you ever run or looked into something like this for the NBA.  It seems like something like this would work good there too.

I have been tracking something in the NBA for about a week now.

How would a person with reasonable (average public level knowledge) of the NBA cap the days games?....who would his top 5 favorite plays be. I don't look at the public or really spend that much time on it.  If I was an average Joe who had just watched sports center who would I bet on ATS?

Once I have it narrowed down to the top 5 I wait until just before game time (best odds) and I record the ATS.

So far it is running very very well.

Just wondering if you have something going for NBA on this?

You mention on you have not seen the Hilton on a run this bad. Well I believe this is the most contestants it has ever had and next year might be more. More contestants = more square picks.

Fade the top 5 picks, and bet the 5 least selected and the Contras. Bet the Cowboys, Texans, Lions, Panthers, Bengals, Colts, Dolphins, Raiders all ATS

The overall value of this bet looks really good, since you're taking literally a 75% capped play PLUS a 71% capped play PLUS whatever hybrid contra % play is...

Consider this:  Why not just go with the more proven capping tactic and stick to fading the Top5 Hilton Picks?  It's by far the best winning % of all scenarios.  ALSO, did you notice that all 5 Top picks are HOME GAMES?  This presents an utterly rare situation, 1 of them is bound to cover.  Press our luck or do further evaluation?  Were it my $, I'd stay away from 1 game:  Cardinals vs Houston.  Why?  Houston has been in DIRE STRAITS with margins of losses by [3, 1, 25, 31] and Keenum was superb in the last 2 games. Just my 2 cents

Cowheard an Hilton both agree on Bal/No think when they both agreeg on a team is 3-17 if im correct . That means the plays would be Cowboys/ Cincy . Bol all

Like Daran said, it makes me nervous that all the fades are road teams. A lot of the Hilton square picks are road favorites that go down playing in someone else's stadium, and the picks didn't give enough credit for home field.
