BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP)—Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel left Saturday morning’s practice with a strained hamstring.
Samuel was hurt while working in seven-on-seven drills during the team’s first practice in full pads this summer.
“We’ll just see how he does here,” coach Andy Reid said. “I won’t know anything for a bit here.”
The All Pro signed a
six-year, $57 million contract with the Eagles after spending his first five seasons with New England.
If Samuel is out for an extended period, the Eagles have depth at the position. Two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Lito Sheppard, who lost his left cornerback spot to Samuel and wanted a trade, would step in.

Just posing a question........ The consensus is that teams who rely on a lot of blitz packages are covering up for undersized linemen, lack of a pass rush, slow unatheletic LB's and poor cover corners. Is that true?

Don't flatter yourself high school football coach. Your a clown. Tony Romo is a top 5 QB like colleges (or hs for that fact) like 5'9 quarterbacks. All you do is look at NFL.com and copy and paste, you honestly sound like you have never played or watched a football game in your life, all you do is look at these "stats" you love so much and run your mouth. As you politely mentioned in our earlier conversation that I played college basketball and not football I am apparently underqualified to be commenting on such offensive football issues, (Except with both made it too the same level of football, except I could have played in college) How the hell did you play QB at a high school with 5,000 students being 5'9???? I'm getting real tired of you running your mouth on here only relaying to us what you read on in the internet, you only sound like you havent watched or played in a game in your life.
yeah ok
i forgot everyone is predicting like i am that samuel will be the biggest bust in FA this year
if you think Romo is not a good QB YOUR A MORON.
keep stalking me you person i wish you would come to bmore so i could kick your ass person all 5 foot 9 of me would put you in the hospital quick as shit
here you go i will repost what i wrote so everyone can see how stupid your comments are about me just copying and pasting everything i write

FOR THE LAST DAMN TIME I AM A RAVEN FAN NOT A COWBOY FAN...I CALL IT LIKE I SEE IT.
Also if you think the team and schemes don't affect how good or bad a player is you could not be more wrong. just look at Denver RB's as an example...denver can take a average to below average back (Mike Anderson, Tatum Bell...) and turn them into a probowl 1,000 yard back...its not all about the players scheme is a HUGE part of it.
How come the Pats always let go of their CB's when they want big money (Ty Law, Samuel)? do you think it might have to do with there scheme does not require great CB's because they NEVER leave them in man to man 1 on 1 coverage...there always is a safety over the top and they ALWAYS play some type of zone (alot of the times it will look like man before the snap but it won't ever be man to man). plus the pats never play bump and run they always play the "off" technique which philly is the exact opposite as they always play bump and run man to man defense

i think asante was more a product of the system then him being some type of superior CB. Remember the guy was only a 4th round pick and his 40 time was in the mid 4.5's...he is not exactly a world class athlete. he is great at reading routes and jumping them. he also is great a baiting the QB in zone coverage to make him think the WR is open. he is at his best when the play is in front of him.
my concern with him joining the eagles is his ability to play bump and run man coverage. now maybe JJ will change the scheme a bit to help asante but i doubt it. the eagles play bump and run coverage which is much different because you are playing the man not the route and you can't watch the QB's eyes as you have to turn your back to him and run with the WR. he has never done that in the NFL so IMHO it is a legitamate concern. he might be able to do it but i truly believe he will be just an average CB in this scheme.
BTW- i am not a member of the front office for baltimore so me "focusing more on them instead of the eagles secondary" will not help the ravens at all. i could focus 110% of my energy on the ravens and it won't change one thing...hope you got my point!! i do have extensive knowledge on every NFL team so i try to come to forums to help others and for me to gain some knowledge from others that i can use to inhance my NFL betting hobby...thanks for your concern though LOL!!

Don't bother will this bmore character. I thinks that thinks since he is an offensive coach at a high school is knows all, but really all he does is tell us things that we can find on NFL.com. He said earlier that Romo was better than his stats, and I think that 80-90% of non-cowboy fans think the exact opposite. Im sure he was the same guy that said when Kurt Warner was putting up sick numbers that he was the best to ever play, when people that know the game knew he was just a system qb, that was surrounded by weapons that could even make a high school offensive coach look good.
this was your first post in this thread...not one bit of real info or insight on the topic...just straight stalking me and talking shit about me...i didnt mention you once...i actually commented on what the thread was about unlike you...what you did is the definition of internet stalking
i leave you with a quote from my old boxing instructor, which is a famous line you probably have heard "the bigger they are the harder they fall"...we don't half step in charm city baby!!!
