dumbest decision of Norv Turner's life on the onside kick

I lean more that it was the wrong decision. You have 1 timeout, plus the two minute warning...you kick it deep and if everything remains equal, would the jets have gone for it on 4th and 1 on their own 30yrd line? Who knows, but I think they wouldn't and would punt it.

Norv will now give upper management some wonderful mamadas and all will be forgiven. The GM in San Diego prefers brown nosers like Turner.

I could only make a case for the onside kick if they would have scored after the 2 minute warning. Turner will be back in the playoffs next year,we'll have to wait and see how they screw that up.

Here's why IMO this is Norvs fault. I go back to the start of the Ari/GB game,,,Does anyone remember how Arizona started that game? They fought and scrambled and attacked for every single yard. They jumped off the ground, pounded their chests and ran back to the huddle. They were clearly fired up for a home playoff game.  I SAW NONE OF THAT FROM S.D!!! It appeared that clearly were  not in the frame of mind to face a hungry & determined Jets squad with a point to make.  In the END that is the coaches responsibility, PERIOD !

If they punt and stop them which they have pretty much all day .They have about 120 left, At least u give ur team one more chance.Onisde is baically giving up  desperation play ,Crazy call .The Jet deserve to win they Capitalized on the many mistake they made,and ran into a team who totally overlooked the Jets , .Will the Colts lay  down and not be ready?

I agree totally with hook!  They would NEVER have gone for 4th and 1 on there own 30ish.  The problem for the Bolts was on 3rd and 5-6, they gave up almost the entire yardage.  Had that been 4th and 2-3, I think they punt, or go for a FG?  With all that being said, Keating may have missed again, but at least he would have gotten a chance. Turner has needed to be fired for quite some time now.  That team has way too much talent to not have been in, or won, a Super Bowl as of yet.  The Chargers were flat all game, who knows why?  It is also quite obvious that the Jets are only going to win the lower type scoring games.  If Indy plays offensively like they can, that game will be over early....

IF it worked out and the Chargers won the game, the Turner had made the best decision ever, and now the team lost and that was the biggest mistake he made.     IF there was a bad decision yesterday in coaching, it was the conservative play calling in the game trying to nurse a lousy 7 pts lead.  it's a 7 pts lead, not 17, not 27, not 37.

wow, i can't beleive how many people don't know the odds. seriously, if you think kicking an onside kick(10-12%) rather than kicking deep and KNOW they are going to run the ball, if you can't stop them you deserve to lose. I had Jets +8 and didn't even see the 4th Q,but you need to know the odds.

Just look up Norv Turners Career record and you will see he is not a good head coach.

so you are going to kick it to 9 or 10 guys and you have 6.

Alot of people just don't seem to understand that if you kick deep, 4th down would not be an option for the Jets in that spot. I have stated several times that the STOP has to happen 1st, and the STOP would have been on 3 downs instead of 4 if they would have kicked deep.You are exactly right that the % is low in recovering an onside kick.Norv made a piss poor decision yesterday and deserves all the blame for making THAT decision.

The kick didn't cost them the game.  Missed field goals, poor penalties, interceptions and poor tackling cost them the game.  This was a decision that should not have been made if they SD played smart football. Time to give the Jets credit.  They held them to 7pts for more then 3 quarters of the game. The offense did just enough. Kudos to the Jets.  Beat Indy!

do some of u nitwits realize that if he kicked it deep the jets would not of went for it on fourth down like they did because the clown went for an onside kick to give them god field position.  It was a terrible calll.?

I really wish the NFL would mandate that Norv must wear a turtle-neck shirt whenever he is on tv so none of us have to look at his scrotum neck anymore.
