I guess there should have been a question mark after my statement. Statement was about how fair this country really is that it would elect a black man as president. Obama being elected president proves how fair this country really is so there should be no excuses for anyone in our society.

Quite a few NFL players have spoken out against him already.

He better hope he doesn't play again in the NFL.  Any America-loving linebacker or safety will break him in half if they sack him.

And this is America...everyone is allowed their right to believe what they `want. Not only when it agrees with your views...

He sees that America is not just for all living here. He sees some injustice for certain groups, so he is protesting. He's not allowed?

You can disagree w his actions and his views, but he is allowed them. Just like you guys can think that someone who grew up w privilege is not allowed to have dissenting thoughts on how this world works. Or how Islam is evil. Or how black folks are just whining and they just need to work harder to have it as good as you.

Thats your opinion. Others have different opinions. Live w the fact that people are different and have different life experiences and different world views...its America, thats what makes it great. The irony here is kind of laughable...

I know Chicago well. I'm on the West side 5 days a week for work, in the worst possible neighborhoods you could imagine.

Let me try to say what I'm about to say carefully, I hope. This is how I see it because it's in my face almost everyday.

First off, BAD COPS do exist. Bad apples have ruined the image/integrity of the Police force here in America for years. Some of the most disgusting acts of brutality and abuse of authority are real.

But does anyone ever appreciate these guys for putting their lives at risk everyday? Barely ever. Do you think that they are out their "looking" for a chance to oppress, beat or kill on a daily basis?

Are you kidding me? They are doing their JOBS. At least 99% And they are using the training and techniques they were taught. Do you think you can merely "ask" a person(who is resisting arrest) to kindly step into the police car? No, it takes physical action. And on anyone's cell phone camera this may look a little brutal.

The fact is, in these "black" neighborhoods, the conditions are absolutely brutal. The poverty, the drugs, the gang bangers, the prostitution, the alcoholics...EVERYONE owns a pitbull...It's the saddest type of life you can imagine. But more importantly, you have to be strong, you need eyes on the back of your head, and you down right have to be ready to defend your life at any given moment.

At the same time all though, there are many genuinely good, loving respectable people living here. I know many people that I call friends, and we have nothing in common. What makes the living conditions so dire and unpredictable is that everyone is living in anxiety and fear. Anxiety and fear from getting killed.

Where does Colin Kaepernicks anxiety and fear come from?? Where?? Hackers might get into his bank account? He might get cut from the niners...if  he was ever truly oppressed by an authority we don't know about it.

Basically, in Chicago, in these neighborhoods, everyone is strapped. People are killing each other daily at an atrocious rate. Ever since all the recent "Police brutality" jargon the past couple years, you know what's been happening? Cops ain't doing their JOBS anymore. Why? Cause they are under a huge magnifying glass. Who wants to get fired for doing their jobs, or for self defense? These guys have families too. Unfortunately since, crime rates and murder rates have risen.

Lose lose situation. People are dying. They need more Police in these neighborhoods but they are pushing them away.

I can confidently say that Colin Kaepernick does not know sh*t about what's really going on in the real world.

Good lord...he's not saying that he is the one oppressed or that he lives under fire every day. He's making a statement about what he see's going on in America.

I don't think this is the best way of going about it, bc there are definitely more constructive ways of trying to help or make change, which is what I assume he is trying to do.

I'm tired of folks saying it's his 1st amendment right to protest in this manner. Although it's a factually true statement it still doesn't make what he's doing right. The 1st ammendment also gives you the liberty to burn the flag or dress up as a nazi and spread hate...  still, it doesn't mean it's right.

Disrespecting the national anthem in such a public display is just very disrespectful.. To those who have served, families of those who have served and others who are just grateful to live in the US, even with it's many, many, many faults. He should go spend time in a 3rd world country (there's plenty to choose from) or even a 1st world one like China/Russia where your liberties are restricted. Then he might come back a tad bit more grateful.

Seriously, there's a billion better ways he could have gone about bringing attention to this matter in a constructive way. I'm surprised no one close to him talked him out of it. It's such the wrong move on so many levels...

Colin laid down the whole season like what most large markets teams do in football... If he actually used his legs he would make white people irrelevent in this sport much like basketball... And he hates it ... Even 100 million couldnt shut him up... LOL what a tool...
