People keep talking about last years Titans like they were great or something. They got knocked out of the playoffs as a number 1 seed by the Baltimore Ravens at home, a team the Steelers beat 3 times last season.

I like Tenn ML also. They can win that game.

PREVIOUS YEAR SUPERBOWL CHAMP IS 8-0 ATS in WEEK ONE.  Stat is from 2001-2008.  Just looked it up.
 
Stay away from Tennessee.

And what happened in 2000?  Let me guess the previous super bowl champ didn't cover, right?  So are you saying that something has permenatly changed in football that makes it so previous superbowl champs always cover week 1 now?  I think this stat is useless.  Look at it like this, if in roulette black hits eight times in a row should you bet red?  Maybe, but the odds of red, black, or zero are still the same as on the first spin.  Once again if you like the Steelers take them but this stat should not be the reason you do so.

If you think that I'm wrong about my roulette example, by all means come here to Nevada and give us all your money.  The roulette tables at major casinos have digital boards that tell you the last 20 numbers that came up and what color they were.  This is so that suckers walking by will see 8 reds in a row and bet all their money on black.  Every time the wheel is spun you have app. a 45% chance if you bet black,red,odd,or even.  Heres the important part.....REGARDLESS of the prior results.  You need probabilities for dummies.  Or just come to Nevada and pay for the road in front of my house to be repaved.

Look I know the odds of the wheel hitting red 9 times is low, but so were the odds of it hitting 8, 7, 6, or 5 times in a row.  The ball and wheel do not know the prior results.  Each spin is completly independat of previous results!

We are now equating a ball spinning around a wheel to a football game? This is why I post so infrequently. 
 
You like Tenn...you have money on Tenn.  Good luck...you may cover.  But do not dismiss any trends or try to degrade others  with just insults, and ball and wheel references.  The best team in the NFL covered their Week 1 games for 8 straight years.  Yes, that is rare.  It is enough research to make a bet...GOD NO!

Mike Tomlin is 9-1 in primetime games in his 3 years as a head coach & Pitt was 5-0 last year, could the spread come into play, maybe, but imo, I highly doubt it!

AND I'm NOT even a STEELERS FAN - but the yellow and black will be all OVER K.Collins, so much so Vince Young will be needed to make an appearance, and that's when that cushy spread your counting on will be absorbed. Stay away from the lure of the points, this will be a much different game then last Season's regular match-up. Pittsburgh's too well coached and play so much better at home. BOL to ALL.

The Steelers haven't forgotten how those fools stepped on the towel after beating them. This time we got them at Heinz Field. They are done for. Steelers smash, Polamalu 2 interceptions, and Kerry Collins broken ribs. Laughing all the way to the bank

Nate Washington wasn't exactly a difference maker. Players like Santonio Holmes, Troy Polamalu and Hines Ward are difference makers. Nate Washington doesn't come to mind when I think of playmakers on the Steelers.

As far as playmakers.  The Titans have the fastest running back in the league: Chris Johnson.  Probably the fastest Tight End in the league rookie Jared Cook(4.4 40 time).  Also I believe Washington was the Steelers fastest receiver, in addition they have rookie first round pick receiver Kenny Britt.

Last year the Titans were not very explosive, this year is altogether different.

I would recommend taking the points.

  It's gonna be pretty tough for Kerry Collins to pass a football when he's laying on his back. This guy is not that quick and Pitsburgh defense is going to be stomping on his towel thursday. Remember that the nation will be watching. I don't see Pitsburgh taking their foot off the throttle on opening night.

The Steelers couldn't get to Collins last year at all.  In fact Collins was only sacked 7 times ALL YEAR.  I need to look it up again for sure, but  I think thats the correct number.
