This didnt cost SF the game.. the team was 1 for 14 on 3rd down and couldnt gain an inch on the second half... THATS WHY THEY LOST.
Wrong they were in position to win with 9 min left in the game all the momentum the def playing great Eli going ot have to go 80 yds to win the game just like the game plan they wanted but when you have that type of game plan you cant make stupid mitakes and Williams did.Eli was struggling his balls off in the 2nd half until given the short field

The ignorance is in your comments my friend...Here is a snipit from Mike Pereira former director of officials.
If the ruling on the field had been called a fumble, the Giants would have had the opportunity to challenge, giving a chance for the officials to make an accurate call, so everyone would know the call was correct. But, because Hittner whistled the play dead and called it forward progress, no review could be made.
A forward progress ruling prior to a fumble is not reviewable, period. However, let’s assume for a moment that it was. It wouldn’t have been reversed to a fumble on this play because Brock was pulling Bradshaw backward before Bowman pulled the ball out of his hands. So the right call was definitely made on the field.
Please know your facts before you act so quick to bash others...
