Excellent reference! Was that some BS or what? Dude was freaking crying as if he was dying and carried off the court and to the locker room by several teammates...only to show up back on the court like nothing ever happened just minutes later. Paul the box!

Oh, one other thing...I never said a thing about Ben acting or anything. I know how serious his injury could have been. I saw his head slam down on that turf that I'm sure was almost like ice.

I think Worthlessberger getting hurt is actually a blessing in disguise for the Steelers and their fans. I think they're a better team with Leftwich under center.
i think you are biased and uninformed. if you watched all of his games you could then give an honest take on his overall standing in the NFL community. since you obviously have not.....shut up. 2005 SB CHAMPION.its not going to change..

Big Ben Sucks period. The guy is a turnover machine. Holds the ball to long takes way to may sacks throws a lot of stupid throws for picks. Before he got knocked out of the game Sunday the only the guy did before that was throw a pick in the red zone. Single handly lost the Titans game. He didn't win the Dallas game Tony Romo gave that game with the pick six.
Ben had one good season with a great D fense and run game and won a Super Bowl. All he did was manage the game and turn around and hand the ball to Bettis. Not even Big ben can fuck that up. Rode that great D fense. Lets not forget all the Shady calls on Seattle in the Super bowl. Like the QB sneak when Ben was a yard short and it was still called a TD. Then the phantom holding call to take away a Seatlle touchdown.
The guy has one good season and gets a life time pass from steeler fans to throw picks, fumble, take 10 sacks a game and suck for the rest of his life.
FYI, without Ben, the Steelers do not even get to the Super Bowl. They won all 3 playoff games due to THROWING to set up the run, then running to keep the lead. Your great insight missed the fact that Bettis was washed up had no impact on the field to win that Super Bowl.
Ben wins, which is all that counts.

I think you like making many uninformed ASSumptions...I've seen almost every Steelers game. Have you ever heard of 'Sunday Ticket'? How about a DVR or TIVO? Have you heard of that? Ha ha! I already gave you an "honest take", don't get your panties all bunched up just because you don't like it. You can talk about that Super Bowl all you want...the Steelers D, Jerome Bettis, and the rest of the running game is what won that Super Bowl, NOT Ben!
Do me a favor, don't make ignorant assumptions when you really have no clue.

Ha ha! Tony Turnover did not have a good year, he's still too careless with the football. IMO though, he's not the problem, O-line let him down in several big games. Not only were they weakened with Procter in (after Holland went down), but, theres no excuse for all of the constant penalties putting Romo and the Cowboys in unnecessary 3rd and long situations. The WR's efforts are certainly in question, their route-running was pathetic and they basically looked lazy in their lackluster efforts to get open. Play-calling at times has to be questioned as well, especially when the opponents defense is clearly getting through that weakened O-line and you fail to make adjustments to that (screen plays, draw plays, quick slants, etc.).
How's that? That enough for ya?
So anyway, I stick by my stance of Ben being called 'Worthlessberger'...you have your opinion and I have mine, mine is that he is an absolute turnover machine. He holds on to the ball waaaaaaaay too long and he looks like a deer in the headlights a lot of times.
L8kersFan74 - Clicking a link to your profile is not "stalking." Why on
earth would you fill one out if you did not intend on people SEEING it.
But I do think it's funny how you can come up with all kinds of reasons
why Romo doesn't get the job done, yet can't concede that, oh, maybe
Ben has a few offensive line issues as well, and a n unimaginative offensive coordinator. But hey, whatever works
for you.
P.S. I'll again reference my above chart of most wins in history by an
NFL quarterback in their first five years. By "in history," in mean
"ever":
1. Ben Roethlisberger (2004-2008)
2. Otto Graham (1950-54)
3. Dan Marino (1983 - 1987)
4. Tom Brady (2000-2004)
5. John Elway (1983-1987)

You hit the nail on the head. That is, people focus on statistics that ultimately don't matter. Making good decisions in key situations matter. Scoring in the 4th quarter matters. Sometimes it's more about what you DON'T do in key situations than throwing for 400 yards in a game.
I'm not here to say Ben isn't playing sub-par this year. I actually think it's due to two factors: he's stubbornly playing the game he was good at 2 years ago (scrambling, etc). With a good OL. But he's slower after the abuse his body has taken.
Yes, he is holding the ball too long. But the offensive line can't run block worth crap. And that renders the offense completely one dimensional, which puts winning completely on Ben's shoulders, hence the ill-advised throws and the holding onto the ball looking for a big play.
My main argument throughout this thread is against the outright bashing of Big Ben.

no clue...
bettis had little impact on the season as a whole..everyone knows that. he almost gave the whole thing away and ben saved it with the tackle...remember ??? ben was the weapon that took the steelers back to the top..its not even close. its funny how people run their mouth about players they have no experience watching. i love covers....

I think we all know Bettis' overall carries had dimished at that point. That was a key for them. Saving him and using him in KEY situations...short yardage 3rd and 4th down plays and goal-line situations. He always seemed to come through in those situations. Did you not read "the rest of the running game"? Whether you want to admit it or not Bettis was MOST DEFINITELY a key to that playoff run and eventual Super Bowl win.
Who the hell's not watching??? The only one running their mouth is YOU. Keep it up with your asinine assumptions. I love Covers and ignorant, clueless fucks like you as well!
Try getting Ben's nutz off your chin...

I have nothing personally againt Ben Roethlisberger, has nothing to do with hatred. This is all about his play. Holds the ball too long, gives up far too many turnovers because of it, and his passing accuracy is not good. I will give him credit though for one thing, he is clutch. He seems to play much better after his team is behind due to his turnovers and the sacks he takes. He is definitely a much better QB in the 4th quarter.

You can copy and paste that thing as many times as you want... the fact of the matter is those wins were keyed by the DEFENSE and the running game, and NOT won by fantastic QB play.

Not to mention the majority of those wins are feasting on one of the worst (if not thee worst) divisions in football during that span...Browns, Bengals, and Ravens who were all very bad teams during THAT SPAN (2004-2008). Sure the Bengals were OK a couple of those years and the Ravens turned it around this season, but, overall one of the worst divisions for sure aside from the Steelers.

So what's the moral of the story? Ben will go on as the QB. The Steelers will keep having winning records... and Ben will have nothing to do with it. Because football is only played on the defensive side of the ball in Pittsburgh. And Ben is the only reason the offense isn't clicking.
If stats are what you want, 3 out of his first 5 years, his QB rating hovered around 100. If that's what matters to you. I prefer winning.
