Ravens WAY ahead of Jets offense??
20th to 13th in reg season in yds, and Ravens scoring 24 pts/gm to 22. for Jets. Flacco was hurt, and was lucky he only had to complete 4 passes Vs NE because the overrated Pats self destructed. When Flacco NEEDED to pass last week Vs the Colts after they got behind, he turned the ball over. But the Jets have the #1 rush offense, and Sanchez was playing as good if not better than Flacco in the last month.
THE PLAYOFFS ARE ALL ABOUT MATCHUPS!!
I was saving these stats for Sunday in my write-up, but will give my reasoning now.
The Chargers and the Colts are almost idnetical teams. And you're fact about the Colts home crowd.... didn't the Jets have to play against Cincy's and SD's home crowds??
Didn't they just beat this Colts team in this exact stadium a couple weeks ago? The players play the games, not the fans.
Now back to the similarities...
---Both offenses have great QB's (I will say Manning is a notch better so save it) and both are VERY good, if not the 2 best vs the blitz. How did Rivers do?
---Both have a great #1 WR and a top notch TE (Jackson-Gates and Wayne- D. Clark)
--and most importantly, both have hardly any RUNNING GAME!! How will they move the ball when Wayne is stuck on "Revis Island"?
Even more proof they are almost the same team.
Total yds offense Indy 9th ranked SD 10th
Points scored SD 4 Indy 7th
RUSHING SD 31 COLTS 32nd and last
Defense Rank SD 16 Colts 18th
Vs the Rush SD 20th Indy 25th
and Indy's defense is 31st in the league, on stopping opponents on 3rd downs, giving up a 1st 45 % of the time!!
Besides the facts, you have a Jets teams that has all the momentum and confidence and absolutely ZERO pressure.
I don't have the exact facts on #1 seeds ATS in Championship games in the last 5 or so yrs, but off the top of my head, I know its not good. (Plan on getting that stat)
And I know there has been a good amount of teams that have won 3 road playoff games on the road to the Super Bowl in recent memory as well.
I'm not trying to tell anyone to switch thier pick, it's your choice and your money, but for those ppl who are on the fence, i think they deserve to see the reason for people backing the Jets. the only thing I keep hearing from Colts backers is "Manning is god, a rookie QB on the road cant win, and Colts killed the ravens last week. "
Best of luck whoever you decide.
