Last week I made a big thread about taking Romo on the road and now I will post another thread about taking Sanchez on the road.
All year I have looked for spots to bet against the Colts given their public perception, so this opinion is not biased.
Jets backers, you beat a horribly overrated San Diego team and a Cincy team who was also overrated.
1.) Peyton Manning will find a way to put up points on any defense. I know, I am the guy that usually bets against him and he kills me, lol. Will the Jets find a way to score points too?
2.) If A happens, will Sanchez have to throw more? If so, lookout with those pass rushers and loud crowd noise. I can see the Jets getting fg while Indy converts drives into TD's.
Intangibles:
On road in loud environment
Biggest NFL game for many of their starters (pressure Braylon??)
Rookie QB (He's got better, but still a rookie)
Rookie Coach

The crowd can be quieted with a couple of big plays.
Peyton will score and so will the Jets with field position and a strong running game, it's football in it's truest form, this will be a chess match and should be fun to watch.
Jets 23 Colts 20
Rookies now a days are cocky and think they have been in the league for 10 years, they expected to be here.

I can just see the threads now. Braylon fucking sucks. Horrible pass Sanchez. What a terrible 3rd down call. How many passes are they gonna drop? Why don't they blitz Manning more? How does Reggie Wayne get that open? I knew I should have bet on Peyton, etc

Just seems like a bad play.

Mr. Insight-I have also tossed a few bets vs. Indy and Manning and typically come up short.
I believe the Colts will win and cover. What I haven't seen discussed often is how much more physical the D Front is of Indy than in years past... I don't believe the Jets will have that much success running the ball and that is going to make things difficult for Sanchez.....
LOVE the J-E-T-S on D. However, one thing we have both learned (the hard way) is you aren't stopping #18....
BOL!

You are dead on... This will be my biggest bet of the year, the Colts win this one big..... And what is even better is we have the NY public to thank for this line dropping. The Jets had a great ride but this game will be a different story, no doubt in my mind.

The thing that the Colts do well when it counts is convert drives into td's. I think they will do that and force the Jets to alter their game plan in the second half when they are down 10. That is when the defensive ends break the game open and make it a 17 point game. The jets might score late but the Colts should win by 10
Good luck all

come on man... how many times do you have to be wrong about the Jets before you pick up on what is happening?
i think even YOU know that people who bet on the Jets are not going to be ripping up their tickets early and screaming at the TV... Jets will be running the ball, and will be running it with success... you know that, right? i mean seriously... i want to see if you are really going to claim that you think the Colts defense will shut down the Jets running game... i want to see if you are really going to claim that you think Reggie Wayne is just going to be open all day long going against Revis...
Colts always have a shot at covering a spread... but from a capping standpoint, there is not way to argue that the Colts are the right side in this game... none!

Don't know about covering, but I will eat my balls if NY wins this game. They should have lost last week and I'm sorry, but I'll give Indy's coaching staff and P. Manning 34 more times credit then SD's sorry group.

Great QB (yes Peyton is a notch better than Rivers)
Great receiving targets (Jackson and Gates-Wayne and D.Clark)
Both have trouble RUNNIG THE BALL!
Tough to convert 3rd downs and get in the end zone after reaching the red zone (just ask SD)
And thier defenses with SD and Indy are similar as well. Jets already are confident beating Colts there already, and Sanchez is no longer a "rookie" QB. 2 road playoff wins cancels that out.
Best of luck to ya whatever you go with.

Jet's here.
Colts are VERY similar to Chargers.

I actually haven't heard one guys opinion on ESPN this week about this game, I've been to busy to watch TV. BUT if one of them said what I just said, that dude must be a sports genius!! I was gonna root for a Saints one point win this week, cuz I hate arrogant Vikes fan, especially being a Bears fan, but you are making it TOUGH for me to ever root for the Saints again.

Remember, backing the Jets, and having them win ARE TWO SEPARATE THINGS.
The Jets do have some ingredients to win games-can run the ball, and play defense.
Sanchez vs. Manning is NO CONTEST. However, the Jets are not going to "unleash" Sanchez-they're hoping the running game can keep them in control, and he throws 20 passes or less.
Mr. Manning, on the other hand, has no running game. This is gonna be the classic 'pass first to set up the running game'-I'm guessing Manning WILL THROW 20 PASSES THE 1ST HALF.
I'm just hoping for a good game.

The Jets are not even on the same planet talent wise as the Colts...that doesn't mean the Jets can't win Sunday. If the Colts play down to their opponent and Peyton is off, then sure the Jets can win b/c they are playing with a ton of confidence.
But lets not act like the Jets are a great team, or a good team...the Jets are an average team that go a ton of very fortunate breaks at the end of the year to get in and they've parlayed that with confidence to go on a nice run...
But their larger body of work suggest they are no better than a .500 team (remember they were 7-7) before facing two teams that laid down.
Their "great" defense has been burned on big drives late in games repeatedly all year (see Miami games 1 and 2, see Falcons game). Even in last week's game, the biggest play was delivered by the Offense on a 53 yard TD run to open up 10 point lead. If you think the Jets D was holding that lead, think again. Not to mention the Charges left 9 points on the table.
The Colts were barely trying and winning 15-10 when Peyton came out...if the Colts play their A game, the Jets should consider it a win if they keep the deficit under 20 points...
Also it should be noted out of the last 12 conference title game losers, 7 went winless the following post season and 5 of those 7 never reached the playoffs....File that away when your picking the Jets next year..
