Miami enters with a +67 pt differential achieved vs the easiest sched in the NFL. 50 of that was achieved in one game against a very bad team.3 of their most recent 4 games have been at HOME.Miami coming off 2 successive wins - AT HOME - vs weaklings. Philly enters with a harder fought +31 pt differential, against better quality teams and despite the disadvantage of playing 4 ROAD games!3 of their most recent games have been on the ROAD.Eagles coming off an embarrassing loss, albeit on the road. Of course, as always, fortuitous lucky breaks MAY ultimately determine the outcome.   But I also think Hurts has something he wants badly to prove in this showdown with the teammate who replaced him despite all his success in Bama...

Looking like QB WATSON + COOPER will be good-to-go for the BROWNS.

If WATSON shoulder is close to 100% it could be a long day for COLTS D.

 

Facing a solid defense, Minshew has to play superb for COLTS to win or even cover.

OR.....gain a positive net of "LUCKY BREAKS" directly affecting scoring.

Two huge marquee matchups today between top tier squads!

Lions @RAVENS  .....and tonight, Dolphins @EAGLES

A LIONS victory (if not achieved by lucky breaks, but rather by greater skills) would temporarily tie them for best team in the NFL with NINERS regardless what happens in the Dolphins/EAGLES game, imo. 

A "legitimate" loss by any of these4 teams would still leave them in the top tier, except RAVENS, who would fall into the 2nd tier

an_light I make my ratings (not rankings!) based on  GAME PERFORMANCES, against WHOM!, and at what VENUE.....NOT on dubious W/L records which can frequently be misleading as to the true strength of the team (good or bad)

In my capping analyses there are 3 distinct variables which can impact games leading to misleading results as to the true strength of a team:

 

1/ KEY INJURIES.  We are all familiar with this one. But many fail to include that analysis when assessing past results either for or against a given side.

2/ LUCKY BREAKS!  We are familiar with this one too. One team is dominating the other in the game stats and up and down the field on both sides of the ball....until a tipped-ball for a pick-6 against and later a KO return TD against. That sort of thing. This includes impactful "UNforced errors" -- such as a too many men in the huddle penalty on the defense which turns a 4th down into a first down then resulting in a score.....or offensively, a false start call on a gimmee 3rd and inches play, turning it inot a 3rd and 5, resulting in an incomplete pass and a FGA, rather than what could have been a TD........ Muffed punt; Scoop & score; etc, etc.

3/ One-Off.   We've all experienced these. Usually bad. Where everything we do goes wrong. Common example is a league-leading ACE starting pitcher gets hit 5 times and walks 6 before mercifully being yanked. BAD freakn day! Even though he is the league's BEST! Happens to everyone once in a while and this cannot be escaped. Sooner or later it will happen. Occasionally twice. Meanwhile, the opponent could be enjoying the exact opposite -- call it a "one-ON" if you wish -- where he/they are playing waaaaay above their heads and totally unexpectedly!! Like the +15 pt underdog GIANTS in week 6 on the road at Buffalo! It can be a perfect storm where one team is having a rare "one-OFF" and just by chance the opp is enjoying a "one-ON"

When I look back over their respective results each week to assess the probabilities vs the upcoming opponent, those factors are heavily factored into my analysis of each team's "true" strength...

 

Today, I am waiting on final injury updates before posting some bets...

Good luck big dogg I hope you ram that one through and steel a victory . I have a feeling it will come down to the wire with the Steelers getting down to the 12 yard line or so with 2 minutes and change left and then the quarterback is gonna throw one up for grabs and the cornerback is gonna pickett .
