NEW ORLEANS -- Saints quarterback Derek Carr is ready to reinvent himself.

The Saints introduced Carr in a news conference that spanned 45 minutes on Saturday.

Carr admitted he has a chip on his shoulder after the way things ended, with him stepping away from the Raiders for the final two games of the season due to an inevitable parting of ways.

That ending, he said, sparked his competitive edge.

He also thanked the Raiders for selecting him in the second round of the 2014 draft.

"I wouldn't be me if I didn't say thank you to them," Carr said. "I had nine great years there, a lot of great memories, a lot of hard times, a lot of fun times, a lot of kids since those days. And Mr. Davis and the Raiders organization, thank you. If they see this, I have to say something to them because I wouldn't be there without him."

What's next could include throwing passes to wide receiver Michael Thomas.

Thomas and the Saints looked like they could be headed for a breakup after they restructured his deal in January. But Carr, who talked to Thomas extensively throughout the free agency process, spoke as if he expected to be teammates with the 2019 Offensive Player of the Year.

Quite the deal.  I have nothing against Carr  just think his best days are behind him and the Saints are just getting a recycled QB much like the Colts got with Matt Ryan.   I am expecting the same result.

If they see this, I have to say something to them because I wouldn't be there without him." What's next could include throwing passes to wide receiver Michael Thomas.

If he can get an improved OL in NewOrleans he may get them back in the playoffs.

Needs a better defense in support as well.

After holding talks with the New York Jets, it appears that there could be light at the end of the tunnel for Aaron Rodgers after emerging from the dark.

Yeah, I don't see an upside for him unless it's just plain greed and ego.

    Which it may well be.

    Now this,

Aaron Rodgers: 'It is my intention to play for the Jets'--https://sports.yahoo.com/aaron-rodgers-it-is-my-intention-to-play-for-the-jets-172926835.html

Emerging from the darkness, when will this drama end? How do people care much, really.

Although the Packers made it pretty clear over the weekend that they https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/aaron-rodgers-saga-packers-team-president-mark-murphy-suggests-green-bay-would-prefer-to-move-on-from-qb/, they don't plan on giving him away for free, which seems to have caused a holdup in a potential trade with the Jets.

"The Green Bay Packers, as much as they'd like to clear the salary from their books and gain clarity, they're not rushing to [make the trade]," Schefter said. "The Jets aren't willing to give up what the Packers are asking and so, that could take some time."

According to NFL.com, the Packers aren't looking for multiple first-round picks, but as Schefter noted, whatever the Packers are looking for, the Jets aren't willing to pay that price right now. Even though the Packers might feel that Rodgers is worth two first-round picks, they might be willing to settle for just one first-rounder (Former https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/ general manager Michael Lombardi said last week that Green Bay's asking price was two draft picks with at least one of them being a first-rounder).

If you're the Jets, there's almost no way you're going to be willing to give up one (or two) first-round picks for Rodgers. The problem with giving up that much compensation is that the Jets have no idea how much longer the 39-year-old will be playing. If he goes to New York and retires after one season, then the Jets will feel fleeced if they give up a first-rounder.

How do people care much, really. Although the Packers made it pretty clear over the weekend that they want to move on from Rodgers, they don't plan on giving him away for free, which seems to have caused a holdup in a potential trade with the Jets.  "The Green Bay Packers, as much as they'd like to clear the salary from their books and gain clarity, they're not rushing to [make the trade]," Schefter said. "The Jets aren't willing to give up what the Packers are asking and so, that could take some time." According to NFL.com, the Packers aren't looking for multiple first-round picks, but as Schefter noted, whatever the Packers are looking for, the Jets aren't willing to pay that price right now. Even though the Packers might feel that Rodgers is worth two first-round picks, they might be willing to settle for just one first-rounder (Former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi said last week that Green Bay's asking price was two draft picks with at least one of them being a first-rounder).  If you're the Jets, there's almost no way you're going to be willing to give up one (or two) first-round picks for Rodgers. The problem with giving up that much compensation is that the Jets have no idea how much longer the 39-year-old will be playing. If he goes to New York and retires after one season, then the Jets will feel fleeced if they give up a first-rounder.

jets should b able to give up one first rounder at least

Although it's risky.  If Rogers stumbles and the team has a bad year  which I think is likely,  I bet he retires.  Then Jets left holding the proverbial bag screaming foul.

While it sent shockwaves through the NFL, https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/2181169/lamar-jackson/ https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/lamar-jackson-announces-he-has-requested-a-trade-says-ravens-not-interested-in-meeting-my-value/ hasn't and won't alter the https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/BAL/baltimore-ravens/' plans regarding the former league MVP. The Ravens are not considering trading Jackson and are keeping the faith the two sides will eventually come to terms on a long-term deal, according to The Athletic.

As far as Jackson revealing that he requested a trade on March 2, several high-ranking team executives around the league reportedly had no prior knowledge of said trade request.
