Do you think VanGundy,Breen, and Mark Jackson say "bad call","that should of been a no call", "that shouldn't of been a foul","No! Their giving it to the Celtics!".Just to make themselves look good?....They understand that they can be fired for wrongly criticizing the refs, but there comes a point where you just cant lie to the whole country and say "it was close" or "that was a bang bang play"...The fact that we heard so much of this proves to me that it was alot worse then they even portrayed it to be....And in The Finals no less...as if everyone is clueless to whats taking place out on the floor....I guess we're supposed to just shrug our shoulders and get ready for game 3...

The NBA championship can be bought more easily than a championship in any other sport hands down.....If you can call it that....

The refs have equally sucked on many calls for both teams. But this game came down to one thing and one thing only - Gasol no attempts in 4th Quarter. The Lakers F'd themselves!

    Hmm.........

Free throw differential is just that --- free points.

Factor in the fouling that LA did late in th game --- Lakers shot 15 more free throws.

As for kobe.......Donaghy said that stars get away with stuff that other players cannot get away with.  Problem with Kobe tonight is he was overly aggressive...refs had to call it....b/c his actions resulted in a competitive advanatage......can't just run around 'hand checkin'-- 'bumpin..etc..etc...when you expect touch fouls o be called against you when you go to the hoop or operate in the post.....

But still.....Lakers had practically a 20+ ft advanatge before the late game fouling --- and that is suppose to not be a factor?  Heck yes it was a factor....boston had to sweat the game out b/c of that alone.....along with excellent low post play by gasol and bynum.

Boston wins this series unless its been the NBA's plan to give LA the series and their just trying to get more games out of it....

    $$$$$

They might just call it straight up and see if LA can win one on their own in Boston....and if not give it to them in game 5...

Boston wins this series unless its been the NBA's plan to give LA the series and their just trying to get more games out of it....

    $$$$$

They might just call it straight up and see if LA can win one on their own in Boston....and if not give it to them in game 5...

But still.....Lakers had practically a 20+ ft advanatge before the late game fouling --- and that is suppose to not be a factor?  Heck yes it was a factor....boston had to sweat the game out b/c of that alone.....along with excellent low post play by gasol and bynum.

the worst years are when the Spurs won their titles....

Then after the last one in 07...C's get big 3,LA gets Pau for his brother and a washing machine,Kidd goes to Dallas,Shaq to Phoenix, etc. etc.

I dont think the Spurs are Mr.Stern's favorite team

The refs are fine. The NBA is a well oiled machine, just ask Stern. If you don't like it, don't bet it.... pretty simple...

You can make sure the NBA and Stern are well oiled all you want....bottom line is the refs are not fine...and if you want everybody to think that then hire anaylsts who will lie on live tv and lose all their credibility in the basketball world in the process...

otherwise deal with the fact that you can pay guys millions of dollars to call games and they still wont spit out "the company line"....

Im just glad that the team that deserved to win won the game.  I guess the fact that Ray Allen set the record for 3s in a game, or that Rondo had a triple double had nothing to do with it.  I want the Lakers to win, but to do so on their own merits.  Not because they get the calls from the refs and are given 15 more free throw attempts than their opponent.
I commend you for your honesty! Its gonna be a great series!

the refs were clearly on L.A. and they still couldn't win...look at the stretches without Kobe in the game, what the free throw desparity was. I am truly suprised L.A. didn't win this game with the front court of Boston all in foul trouble.

The bottom line is that there are too many fouls being called that shouldn't be, and it goes for both teams ie: what happened to Ray Allen in game one, and what happened to Kobe in game 2.  It taints the game because it makes a predictable result when you eliminate a teams best player so early in a game.  Hence, LA took game one and BOS took game two.  Or is it really so????  How about this: the team that played the best won game one,  and the team that played the best won game two.  As bad as the officiating has been, which is questionable at best, hasn't the team that's outplayed the other actually one both games?  At this point, 1 - 1 is exactly where things should stand after two games.

Diamonds32, you are making the most astute comments here....  this is a gambling forum that turns into a shittalking fan forum way too often....

... There were brutally bad calls againt both teams, pretty much in an equal amount. There were 2 bad foul calls against kobe.  Way too many touch fouls against both teams.  As a celtic backer, every time i got a bad call that made me go "what the fuck", there was a call almost immeadiately that made me think "lucky break for celtics".....

Bottom line, badly reffed game, in particular the way charging/blocking is being called this year is much different than years past and hurting the ability of players to get to the rim and forcing alot of "flip" shots

There were bad calls on both sides. The refs pick and choose what they want to call. What I really don't like is, they wait so long before makng the call. They fucking suck. This series is going 7 games, regardless of what anyone thinks. The refs will suck in Boston just like the suck in LA.
