For all those who lost that bet and never followed me again, here is your chance to get it all back.After an exhausting write-up, I added the kicker to take the Blazers in the final paragraph. The kicker was Marcin Gortat. The Suns just unloaded him for basically noting to the Wizards. And now here the Wizards are in Round 2 of the EC Playoffs.Simply put: they will beat the Pacers and advance to the ECF.Who cares what happened after this because here we get &#x2B;165.Quick fire points as to why you should back the Wiz:1) Wiz - a complete team riding in on a high. An outstanding backcourt with Wall and Beal. A brutish, punishing frontcourt in Gortat and Nene to protect the rim. A 3 point specialist to hit the big one when all collapses on a drive in Ariza.That is not exaggeration. Who here would take George and Hill right now over Wall and Beal? I wouldn&#x27;t! Beal is a mere 20 years old and plays like he has the On-court maturity of a 27 year old at times. These playoffs are everything coming to fruition for Washington when Wall was drafted and he&#x27;s showing why he can lead this team.Dispatching the Bulls? So what? The Bulls held teams to 91.1 pts during the season. The Wiz averaged 95 against them and better, outside of the 75 point output in the final game (a win where they held the Bulls to 69), they averaged almost TEN POINTS more through the first 4 (where the series was really decided) than the Bulls average defensive effort: 100 points. That&#x27;s quite impressive.Yes this team is on a 5 day layoff but this is a series bet and the Wiz are going to win this series.

2) The Pacers? What isn&#x27;t wrong with them? Internal conflict and brittle chemistry. You&#x27;ve heard it many times and repeating it makes it no less true.I always focus on the psychological side of capping and the frame of mind of these players.Where is their frame of mind? Outer Space with the Muppets.Because that is what the Pacers have become: The Muppet Show.Why go over all the internal strife again? Here&#x27;s the footnotes:- Hibbert calling out his own team of &#x27;selfish players&#x27; in late March.- The trade that sent the glue of the locker room in Granger for Turner, who isn&#x27;t seeing any real minutes in these playoffs (nice trade!).- bringing in Bynum which further undermines an unconfident Hibbert- Stephenson, volatile and mercurial, taking over a lot of the ball handling responsibilities undermining Hill.- Paul George. Do I need to go over his off the court problems?-Vogel - he&#x27;s lost the team and honestly, when he didn&#x27;t change the starting lineup I though he wanted out and wanted to get fired. And now they have to play the Wiz? So bad has this become, The Indianapolis Star reported Lance Stephenson was screaming at the scorers table to credit him a rebound late in game 7! Yup, his head is in the game.

But the thing that will determine this series above all is the front court.

Folks, Hibbert is a mess as we all know. Everyone is going crazy about his 13/7/5B performance in Game 7. Nice, but the wizards will roll him into a sushi roll and the chrome chop sticks are coming out.

Go look at his boxscores before this game:

0 and 0

This is the playoffs against a 38 win eighth seed and those are your numbers. Worse, the Hawks have no true center in Antic who roams around the 3 point line instead of rebounding. And he still couldn't get rebounds or points! Against Antic! My oh my.

Hibbert was SO out of it, Mahinmi had to play crucial stretches and starters minutes in a must win game 6.

Mahinmi CANNOT SCORE. He is averaged 1.6 pts for the series. He's not even that good a rebounder and Vogel had to use him because Hibbert could not play. This guy is allergic to a basketball and is simply a scarecrow in the paint. When you see him in the game against the Wiz, it's a very good thing.

3) If you are going to be this series, it comes down to this: HUGE holes and I do mean HUGE.

There is a HUGE hole offensively on the Pacer side of the ball at center and that hole is still BIG on the defensive side of the ball.

Compare this to the rock solid play of Gortat and Nene, and I can assure you they will come to play.

HUGE HOLES, determine series winners.

In the Portland Houston series, the huge hole was at PG. It was Lillard vs. Lin/injured sick Beverly. Guys, Lillard became a star in that series because of that matchup and fittingly, who ended it? Lillard. His stats in that series? OFF THE CHARTS. That huge hole prevented Houston from ever having a chance to advance as lillard abused Lin and Beverly on the offensive side of the ball.

Gorat and Nene will eat Hibbert and Mahinmi for breakfast and will come with fork and knife in hand.

Add in a side of David West (who will be leaned on for too much and will produce but will tire out given his extended responsibilities to make up for Hibbert). The Frontcourt battle is a severe mismatch and the Pacers have no center.

The Wiz will win because of this as Wall and Beal flourish.

Last point:

Everyone says the world is on this and the world is on that.

Well this whole board was on the Nets series and they won the series. It was the correct play.

The world is on these playoff games because these are he only games left so I will not be afraid to back the wiz here despite them being a sexy pick on the board.

I could write a lot more but why bother? Are you not convinced?

The Wiz is the play and we get a very juicy ML in a series the Wiz should be favored in:

Yes sir, I initially thought the wrong team was favored here (and they might be), but I think at best, WAS should be +120 or so. This series is pretty close to a coinflip in my mind, and with a price of +165, you have to take it.

I've been hearing a lot about how IND has moved past their problems with their game seven win over ATL. The Hawks SUCK! Indiana has not fixed their problems, and WAS is a good enough team to punish them for that.

Pacers are a joke.. Paul George is a great player but for about the past month or so I have lost all interest in Pacers. I hated that the hawks lost but for purposes of this thread i guess it was a good thing.

Great write up scal I see Wizards in 6 in the series. I think they start by winning the first game at indy also.

Definitely some value at &#x2B;165. Some people here mentioned a good match up for indiana. I dont really see it. In my opinion, indiana can be compared with the bulls. They both play a terrible offense and only defense wont be enough if you sometimes cant score for 5-6 minutes. In the other hand, I see the leagues interest in a CF between Indiana and the Heat. Thats the only thing im a little worried. But for this price I will definitely put some money on the wizards. Thanks as always for your great write up

Not so sure I like the play. If I were wanting to buy low and sell high. I would be buying the Pacers low and selling Washington high. We all saw how the Pacers struggled to win their series against ATL and we saw how Washington breezed through Chicago. Those results certainly bode well for backing Washington but there is something telling me Indiana has not finished business yet. BOL with your wager but you may need more than a prayer for Washington to win this series.

Seriously? What do you think? If the line were &#x2B;100, all other things equal, I&#x27;d like the team with home court advantage. But that&#x27;s not what this line is.

To the posters above who asked:The only reason why I don&#x27;t have a pick for game one is the obvious that LC noted: the layoff and rust.If we take game 1, great. Our series bet is still well in hand. If not, then, if I see it as just rust after watching the game, I will likely be back to pound the wizards as dogs in game 2 and still have a live dog series bet.This is a marathon of a series not a sprint of a bet and we don&#x27;t have to deal with these ridiculous spreads which have been quite troublesome in almost every series.To all other posters and comments.I do want to use game 1 as a litmus test for the series bet with no spread or rust to deal with is so much more attractive.To those who disagree, there is much to much quality on the Wizards side of the ball in comparison to the Hawks who just took the Pacers right to the brink (and put up FORTY ONE in a QUARTER in their building IN A CRUCIAL game 5 in a scoring disparity unmatched in NBA history for a 1-8 seed for a quarter. That says a lot about the Pacers and their issues. A hell of a lot despite winning the series. I have never seen a one seed get manhandled by an 8 seed like the Pacers did in that game. The Wiz will be ready with fists clenched.)
