I realize how it works my friend, been doing this almost 20 years, and in a perfect gambling business world that would be great to get even action on both sides, this equates to 10% juice to the house....how many times out of 10 do you think the casino has even action on both sides?? your bookie every night get perfect action both ways??...you ever hear him say "man I need boston tonight!"...I know a gentleman who runs an offshore in jamaiica and has over 8,000 clients and over 100 people answering his phones...some nights he loses three quarters of a million, some nights he makes double that....and the sportsbooks in Nevada don't even like you betting sports, they make most of their money on horses...they book sports as an added luxery and most of their revenue comes from slot machines and the tables, especially the slots....CELTICS ROLL TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'll give u props on your totals, i've tailed u a few times on those...never seen u pick a side but i'd rather see u get back to over/unders....cuz ATLANTA is getting buried tonight IMO but we'll see...it is only a basketball game in the real scheme of things.

For as good as the Celtics were throughout the regular season, the fact
that this is their first playoff run together is huge. Also, it seems
to me that the Celtics were very much well prepared for the Hawks in
Game 4, evidenced by their 16-3 lead out of the gates. The fact that
the Hawks punched back makes me weary of how good the Celtics really
are. Is it possible that this Celtic team, a cast of career-long
losers, spent the entire regular season pummeling teams into the ground
because it was the first time they could? That they paraded through the
regular season playing at their highest possible level and now in the
playoffs, are incapable of going any higher? Also, is it possible they
are burnt out from giving 150% every night of the 82 game season and
have to face a young and athletic team that seems more dangerous the
deeper this series goes...
All of that is very on point. I guess he wrote that and said he will fade the Hawks so what the fuck. But I like his rationale.
Bottom line is I'll start working some totals out over the next few rounds and hope to finish the year w/ a strong push. Im glad I was able to make you some $ earlier, lets keep it up down the stretch.

so your 14 points are with the best team in the NBA at home, in a must win situation Vs a young Hawks team that inside knows they have already overacheieved
So they know they over-achieved meaning they can't play again?
So Joe Johnsons sitting there like "Gee, we played our brains out against the Celtics last game, and totally won a game we should have lost. So lets just roll over and die tonight." Really?
Yeah, something like that. But more importantly, us Celtics backers are expecting that Games 3 & 4 in Atlanta got Boston's full attention.

Also robbie - Im sure you know 25x more about the industry than I do. Fact. All i know is that it always seemed to me that just the juice alone is enough for an off-shore or major book to turn profit, barring any crazy games that are loaded on one side. Not saying Im right by any means, just what I always thought.

Why is it crazy when Boston already easily covered lines of -15 in both its home games? Now you think they should be favored by just 9 points? Are you that swayed by what happened to the Celtics in Atlanta? I see the Celtics having those 14 points covered by halftime, and it only gets worse for the Hawks after that.

No. I put 1 unit on the Celtics -4. That's all I could get. I'm happy with what I've banked on the 1st half and I'm satisfied with what I've still got riding on the -13.5, which is no lock at this point anyways.

I'm not a believer in laying more points at halftime with a big old favorite that's already covered the 1st half line, so be careful. I laid -4 -110 for 1 unit, only because it was a great number. Let's just say that -5 -120 is nothing I would endorse.
