The hawks WERE CLEARLY A GOOD TEAM to start his season..... they lost pretty much EVERY GAME since JAN 1st..... and they are still in the playoff race... thats feckin pathetic.... lol..... these guys actually had a real legit crew.... legit to win the east? FECK NO..... legit enough to smack around everyone else not named Miami or Indy.... yes.... for that reason they balled hard when they had a real crew and they are still alive in the playoff hunt.
At this point I thik they understand its a meaningless season..... and judging by the comments they make they seem like a proud organization built on commitment and future. So... with tha said if they make the playoffs it will be bad.... they will probably put a up a worse fight then last years bucks injured and depleted it will be an embarassment..... plus they are a smaller market....

in general,seems awfully strange tho that books arent really catching on to wat the cavaliers have been achieving of late..they still seem to be seen as simply a rag-tag bunch of over-achieving scrappers that just get by on spirit and determination and are lucky to be in most games.........where-as in reality they are performing like one of the hottest tickets around,as detailed in your write-up.and of course being fueled by desperation dont hurt neither.
wat exact point in time do you believe the notion of flagging the season occured to this organisation scalabrine???.....for the longest time they have just been stuck in no-mans land,too good to ever miss the playoffs(and hence have a shot at a good lottery pick)..but yet too incomplete to ever seriously challenge for even an eastern conference championship.and this season seemingly shaped up in pretty much the same way,with a solid sort of squad looking at another playoff berth in the horrible east........with horford intact in the middle and no serious injuries to speak of is there any chance that this would be happening rite now???and so was there a point in time where it was decided-"this is a lost season anyhow,lets try a different route"...and wen was that??they stayed pretty strong after horford went down for quite a while....then the injuries.
pretty safe to say that a core line-up of horford,milsap,antic,korver,teague,lou williams and brand cudnt miss the playoff cut even if they tried in the weak,weak east....so was it simply circumstance and fate in the form of health/injuries that changed the direction of their season and forced their hand as they saw it??

I have a STRONG opinion on the Knicks ML being a good one and ML parlayed that several places and ultimately I bought the hook and took the Knicks -3. 
. -3 is MUCH better than -5 which I thought for certain it would be it. The line makes little sense being this low in this spot not only for what I think of the Knicks but for the national TV beating of the Nets which should have drove the squares to the Knicks side in droves even more than usual.

Their season will be over tonight...
After having won 5 of 6...
After failing miserably the whole season in a season where they had one goal...make the playoffs...
And this Hawks team is going to derail them when a Knicks team that had won 8 in a row and was up 15 at the half couldn't?
No way. Not tonight.
And furthermore, even if the Hawks lose, their season is FAR from over.
I don't think the Knicks will lose but the Hawks don't know that while the game is going on for the most part (they will be playing their own and this should be a good game).
So if the Cavs win and in their mind's the Knicks could lose (and in their mind's that is a distinct possibility and yes the Wiz are no pushovers), the end result is that they remain in the exact same spot they were in before this game, tied for eighth and the Cavs are 1 back.
That is NOT a do or die spot for the Hawks.
It is definitely a do or die for the Cavs.
That extra motivation alone makes the Cavs favorable tonight even if my entire OP didn't exist, especially getting points!

Yup. 8:30 am and still no official line on many sites.
The books are worried about setting a line here given the way the Hawks have handled things down the stretch and if they are not, they should be.

The hawks jumped out to a nice lead in that bulls game and ulimately succumbed to a better team so for that one game, van Gundy is off.
The same thing will happen here. The hawks will have a lead and it may be a nice size. But in the end, they will fall. They will not end the Cavs season tonight and theirs won't end if they lose anyway.
After losing 21 of 28 and 7 of 8 will the playoffs on the line and only a win over the horrid Sixers, Jeff Van Gundy is not going to light enough of a fire under this team to beat a team playing with more fire than they've had all year.
This thread is precisely written to move away from Van Gundy and what's on the floor, and what's on the floor is a culture of losing and a severely underperforming roster vs. a talented one that is doing anything it can to win, and is succeeding.

I'm aware. That includes one of the best games of the year (for bad teams): a double overtime127-125 Cavs loss in Cleveland on December 26th. That was a better hawks team with horford and a worse one with a ragged Bynum on the Cavs. Kyrie dropped 40 that night.
And if the Cavs won a single one of those 3 or that one above, they would be ready to jump into eighth tonight.
They will succeed doing that here...
