aint shango the dude that tried to run a thread playing theoretically to see if he could make a living off his nba plays daily??..not sure if it was actual bets or paper bets but the guy got absolutely destroyed in about 2 weeks flat,lost most of the bankroll i think??...playing as you said,scalabrine....halfs,quarters,props,length of national anthem..........

why lay out such ridiculous challenges anyhow??we all know they never,ever amount to anything...youd be insane to engage a stranger in such an arrangement over the interweb

Actually, that's what made it scary. They aren't posting a line seven points off without purpose. These guys are serious about their work and have more information than anyone.  They know their sh*t. Sure they have been wrong and will be again, however way more often than not, they are on the right side. 

That's why I was on the other side of you on the Nets/Cavs game. A -9.5 opening was insane, too insane to not notice. Likewise for this Atlanta opening at -4. That line was backwards and like you and I agree, it should have been -4 going the other way. 

I know the game is played on the court but sometimes, red flags go off and I know to lay off or even flip sides. I really hoped I was wrong on this one. I'm sure you got loads of haters (I cant read the entire thread unfortunately) but let them go. Simply not worth the time.

Scal, I read the through the harsh comments and I'm sorry. In fact, I was out with a friend tonight and instead of thinking about the money I lost (which can be won again) I was thinking of the bashing you would be taking and felt very sad. I think there is something we can learn from this and it is actually something you taught me: the national embarrassment angle. I think Van Gundy calling the Hawks and Ferry out on national TV did change the playing field for this game. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if, after tonight, the Hawks go back to their tanking ways. But for tonight, after all the talk on TV, they had to show up: the players, the coaches, the franchise. Van Gundy basically questioned the integrity of the league, so even the NBA had a stake in the Hawks winning tonight.

I read through all of these threads and realised that if Scal hadn't done such a great job of writing this up it would just be another thread heading towards the bottom of the pile even if it did win! It'd be easy to say "Orlando & Charlotte Under" and have a few people saying "Yay I won" but that would be it. 

However I'm glad in a way these haters lost money on this game because they deserve it! As so many people have quoted its up to YOU to put your own bets on and if you tail someone else and lose then you deserve it if you can't research your own bets. 

Again, I support you 100% Scal and look forward to your next write up. Don't lose the faith brother, just ignore the haters!  Haters gonna hate especially here I've noticed in a very short amount of time!

Hey Scal -- I capp my own games, though coin-flip or maybe a little above average at best ha ha, but I enjoy sportsbetting.  In my long history of sportsbetting (started early 90s -- I think I opened my first offshore account with the first offshore book ever), I have seen few cappers like yourself -- the way you analyze games.  And you're one of the cappers I enjoy reading your insights to the games that you capped/played (you and LeagueCapper).

I couldn't help but to chime in with all these posts -- I know I don't have to tell you this, but keep your head up!  Much respect, and in my opinion, you're on the same list of proven sports prognosticator as LeagueCapper, KAYLE, DAVIDN, FearTheWeb, LVTruck (to name a few).

Scal doesn't listen to reasoning like this lol...he knows more than anyone in the world about sports betting. I mean hes 14-9 for christs sake! Theres no such thing as a shady line in Scal's eyes. So the way he thinks is this...Oh the much better team is getting 4 points when they should be laying 4?? no red flag there, let me put together a 4 page write up and get the whole forum on board
