lawrence frank. you give him credit as the X's & O's guy & wrongly state his absence resulted in nuggets 24 point win.

nuggets won by 24 simply cause they are younger, healthier & won all the effort plays. Frank being on the sideline would not change this.

Frank sucks, sucked & always will suck. i give credit to Kidd for quickly realizing his mistake & making a brave call to bench him.

& how do you hate on kidd for how this season started? Would you want your job judged cause you lead a bunch of spoiled children that cant bring themselves into the season in shape? Dwill & AK are always hurt, always. Pierce & garnett are comical. He is working with 1 good player & that is brook lopez.

knicks will win simply cause the nets are a bunch of zeros.

I did not attribute the loss to Denver at home solely to bad coaching. It is rather the first game in the post-Frank era, and man, was it a bomb.

Frank does not suck. Go look at his résumé as a top assistant. He also earned his stripes in miserable Vancouver before he helped get the Nets to two finals appearances.

Posters might say, "Why all the hubbub about an assistant coach?"

Because he was the highest paid assistant in NBA history.

    And now he's gone.

And the Nets will be worse off for it.

    That includes tonight.

and nets must be about the bottom of the barrell currently yes,tho as pointed out that shudnt be the case by seasons end.

and even tho im definitely buying wat youre selling in this matchup, just to play devils advocate we mustnt forget that it is a game between 2 bad teams(always a very dodgy betting proposition)and the knicks are also in a bit of a mess at the moment.its cool to say they are desperate for a win and need to end the streak but thats been the case for quite a few games now and valiant efforts aint been enough to get the job done.their success relies heavily on whether outside shots are dropping and this can be a hit'n'miss proposition to be laying money on.i guess in their favour is the weak, slow and cumbersome defense of the nets wing players and team in general however.and no-one can convince me that carmelo hadnt mentally/emotionally checked out before seasons opening even, looking forward to impending free agency.which has certainly reflected in his team-mates belief/respect/loyalty towards him and in turn their performance...nowhere is this better exemplified than in long-range shooting which is massively confidence-based.it has been below par much of the season and this could well be a reflection of feeling a lack of brother-hood,togetherness and cohesion which infuses players with confidence.just my take on it anyhow, perhaps a different angle than some would take but im sure players can feel they gunna be "left out to dry" by their leader in the very near future.

anyhoo, sorry for rambling, just wanted to give some balance to the argument but in no way am i giving a strong counter-point to discredit your view,i actually like the spot and see no reason why knicks wont come out as desperate as you expect them to.i suspect this is a place and a team j.r. cud have a break-out game against also, which his team been desperately waiting on and carmelo is a brooklyn guy too right??maybe a little xtra juiced he might be in hometown surrounds......so,all in all,i reckon you got the right side with just a small caveat regarding the knicks own issues and troubles.but there is certainly more reason to put faith in a strong performance by them than the other mob at the moment and not having to lay any points is golden

by the way im the guy who came in your other write-up saying the blazers arent for real and would fall off at some point,haha...its only bloody-mindedness and stubborn-ness making me stand by my assertion but i must concede they are truly shocking me with every additional win they pile on.by no means do i disregard what talent they have.i see they got a real solid core of just below star-level players and a few nice pieces on the bench now also....but being in the west and also being a (normally!!!!) weak road team should be catching up to them at some stage and i expected their stellar record to be chipped away at....hasnt happened yet.im kinda intrigue-ed now 2 find out how right or wrong i am

thanks again for the literature, keep it coming

    No problem

Kidd was my favorite as well.

On the FLOOR, as you said.

    NOT on the sidelines.

There is a good article online about how Brian Shaw got his position through patience and persistence.

Kidd stepped off the floor and came right back into the NBA fold not a few months from being completely unable to make even a layup vs. the Pacers.

The Nets thought that would bring them a championship.

They couldn't have been more wrong...

Been a Nets fan my whole life and I agree with 99% of what you said. Frank is not a good coach and glad to see him gone.  I couldn't stand him and his style doesn't work at this level.  I have no problems with teaching and nobody works harder, guy can watch film all day but his players all start to resent him.  He has 3 hour practices on the norm, 9am shoot arounds etc.  That gets old real quick especially if you aren't winning.  JKidd made a great move to get him out and he was stepping on Kidds toes telling the other coaches what to do when he had no right and those other assistants let Kidd know they didn't like it.  He was undermining Kidd and he made the right choice.

You made Frank a huge part of this write up and is a non story imho.

I could write a novel about both teams but you made the Knicks sound respectable in your post.  We both know the Knicks are a joke.  Melo called them the laughing stock of the league.  He's about to quit on this team and season.  You told us about close losses?  Who cares this is the NBA there are no moral victories.  A loss by 30 or 1 counts the same.

Felton is shooting a career low from the field.  When he is 1-10 he doesn't stop shooting like he's Reggie Miller.

Shump is a liability.  If I have a guy on the court who can't shoot or rebound and only there for defense I want him at the Center spot where he will have a much bigger impact.

KMart is done and has been for five years.  It's crazy he starting at this point in his career.  He should be a 8th or 9th guy.  He's not stopping Brook and Bargs might be the worst defender in the league, softer than a roll of Charm.

Notice everyone on the Knicks shoots below 40% except Melo.  JR is shooting a mindboggling 33% from the field, how is that even possible?

The Knick bench is the worst in the NBA.

Hardaway if he's lucky will be an undersized back up for several years.

Stoudamire please.  He was done 3 knee surgeries ago.

Pablo should go away never seen somebody so scared to shoot the ball in my life.

    Metta?

Knicks are a stone cold comedy at the moment and that won't change.

Don't buy the motivation angle.  Knicks have been desperate for a win for two weeks now.  Tonight doesn't hold any special significance.

One thing that really stands out is Matt Boland is the ref tonight and home teams are 1-13 ats.

No clue what to do with this game at the moment but wanted to play devils advocate because that was the most one sided write up I have ever read.

yep. i'm with 165. Frank was terrible. to cite his assistant coach record is really selective perception when he's been a head coach for years. & he was brought on as a well paid asst primarily to help the inexperienced head coach. apparently he was doing the opposite of helping when you get canned 30 days into a 6 year deal.

its gonna take a lot more time than just these first couple months to judge kidd. all u are judging him on is 30 days while his best players are hurt, his asst coach is undermining his job. I give respect to kidd for canning frank so fast. that takes balls.

Give kidd the season? (longer?) before concluding he sucks.

I'm pretty sure he knows that, and recognizes that.  He didn't say they were making a run for the finals, he merely said they would win tonight.

Of course Its a "one sided write-up", he choosing his side and supporting it.

I'm with ya, ALL GOLD.  ALL GOLD EVERYTHING, ALL GOLD ON MY WATCH...

....and its probably more effort than either the Knicks or Nets have given this year....

    Yes, O/U?

Im thinking over.  Seems both teams hang in there then just give up when they are getting smoked.

Since both teams are equally bad, will they both not give up and beat the 189?  Thats what Im thinking.

Gotta agree with 165 here. This write-up,allthough nicely written, has a couple of main flaws. Naturally when wagering a team and you want to convince the masses that your on the right side, your gonna be as bias as possible towards that team. That my friend you have done quite nicely.   Therein lies the biggest flaws of all. Gambling lesson number1 paragraph 2, never and i repeat never bet into a streak(whether its a losing or winning one) for any reason what so ever. Also within that same paragraph it states " Do not ever believe or announce that a team is Due because of (in this case) their losses were better than their opponents. And although you may indeed win this bet you violated the simplest rules of gambling. Even a blind squirell can find a nut every now and then. This is not a haters post; i actually enjoyed your write-up; but it just appears that within that write-up your trying to hard to convince yourself your on the right side. Gl tonight, i truly do wish you get lucky and collect.

Frank a terrible coach and it is a nonstory?

You do know he was the coach for the two Finals runs (finals they could have won if they didn't go up against unstoppable spurs and lakers teams). Those were the greatest season's in Nets NBA history. Byron lead by example and made substitutions. I saw all this with my own eyes. I have a full view of it all behind the Nets bench during too many home games to count.

You do know he started out 13-0 and had the greatest start or any rookie coach ever.

You do know that he made the playoffs four times after that with multiple round wins.

You do know he was so highly regarded, Doc Rivers wanted him in LA and he coached well as an assistant in Boston and should have been the head coach there.

You do know the Pistons gave him raw players and no working parts and he blew up there only to be immediately hired by the Nets.

You do know he will have a job very soon, next season at the lastest.

Now for a coach that is 'not good', he appears to be in quite high demand garnering the single biggest payday of any assistant ever.

He was the coach of this team for all intents and purposes.Kidd knows how to play, not to coach.  Kidd has moved him out and the Nets have flamed out on an embarrassing level.

The Nets will pay for that tonight and for my money and if you want, yours, that is all that matters.

The Nets will pay for that tonight and for my money and if you want, yours, that is all that matters.

its gonna take a lot more time than just these first couple months to judge kidd. all u are judging him on is 30 days while his best players are hurt, his asst coach is undermining his job. I give respect to kidd for canning frank so fast. that takes balls.

Give kidd the season? (longer?) before concluding he sucks.

We don't have a season. We have tonight. That is all that matters.

I'm pretty sure he knows that, and recognizes that.  He didn't say they were making a run for the finals, he merely said they would win tonight.

Of course Its a "one sided write-up", he choosing his side and supporting it.
