Thanks for the write up Scal. After game 4 I was thinking to slam my spurs game 5. Because like you said Popovich is a mastermind. Only thing that's got me second guessing is that after game 1 it looked as if Popovich needed to go small ball to start game 2. He didn't and it worked. But now it really looks like that's what he needs to do. But he's proved me wrong before so who knows with the mastermind. I'm actually trying to convince myself to hold off and make a live bet on this one. I really think that the first 6 to 8 minutes of this game is going to tell it all. If the spurs are up early that would tell me Popovich has it figured out and they win this series with 2 consecutive wins in games 5 and 6. Simply because if the spurs win this one comfortably I just don't know what Dantoni can change and throw at Popovich game 6. I actually think it would be best for Popovich to run more minutes with a LA, Kawhi, Simmons, Green, Murray kind of group. At least when Houston only has 1 big on the floor. Not only would that be a better defensive approach but offensively with Capela/Anderson on LA and Ariza on Kawhi I think Simmons can put it on Harden. And if it's Anderson as the only "big" any of our guys can put it on him. I just think LA, Kawhi and Simmons inside is the better approach against this rockets team. Then again Popovich will probably do something else to amaze me. He'll probably find a way to make the LA, Pau duo work like he did in games 2 and 3. Just interested what he does against their small ball line up. In game 4 we scored 104 points. That's enough for us to win but we don't have the guys to give up 120+ and still win. But I dont see the rockets hitting everything they throw up like in game 4 as long as Popovich makes the necessary adjustments. Also think Kawhi rebounds after an eh game. Will probably be on the Spurs with you. Bol man!

Scal you said you have more reasons for your play. Would you mind to share those? If you have time.

Not saying the Spurs will win this series with Parker being out but Popovich > Dantoni. Dantonis team this year lives or dies on the 3. Not a great way to live long term. Just my opinion.

Dantoni is your 16/17 coach of the year and deservingly so you put crater faced popazitbich or any other coach on the rockets and they are a .500 ball club at best Dantoni revolutionized the industry maaan with his high octane offence like 250-90 with the Suns and if it weren't for your Spurs blatantly injuring them they would've won a ship he converted harden into a point guard averaging a triple double and group of role players into a 55 win team 2 wins away from the conference finals nobody could've done or predicted that ADAM Silver do you really want the spurs in the west finals without Tony Parker I mean Dejoint Murray and Danny green vs the splash brothers? Lol that's a good joke let's have the better and more entertaining team go over please and don't worry about nene because Montrez Harrell is a beast

    1) History (or what happened last year)

Tue, May 10 (Game 5 of the second round)

    Spurs
    vs
    Oklahoma City
    L95-91

Oh I remember that game. I certainly love history.

    Gotta remember something BB.

That team played Duncan Parker and Manu a combined EIGHTY floor minutes in that Game 5 for a total of 18 points on 6-22 shooting.

Pop was still deferring to his aged, broken down legends, was still in the series and almost won it (if not for the controversial 1 pt win earlier in the series with the infamous elbow inbounds pass):

With San Antonio trailing 98-97 with 13.5 seconds remaining and Oklahoma City out of timeouts, Thunder guard Dion Waiters elbowed Manu Ginobili to get the space needed to inbound the ball.

"On the floor, we did not see a foul on the play," referee Ken Mauer told a pool reporter. "However, upon review we realize and we agree that we should have had an offensive foul on the play. It's a play that we have never seen before, ever, but we feel we should have had an offensive foul on Waiters."

Pop need defer to the crutches and wheelchairs no more. Does giving up 5.5 here thrill me? Of course not. But that is why line reading is point #1. It leads me to take them, not abandon the Spurs.

    1) History (or what happened last year)

Tue, May 10 (Game 5 of the second round)

    Spurs
    vs
    Oklahoma City

While D'Antoni has his cards face is on how he will play, Pop has not shown his hand on how the Spurs will adjusf.

After all the threes started falling in the second half, pop waved the white flag and allowed the Rockets to run away with it.

It was a euphoric win and one that allowed him to be more ciritixal of his team post-game. But this is EXACTLY how he wants it. An unforeseen ace in the hole game plan per se while D'Antoni pushes all in with small ball.

Advantage Spurs as the Rockets continue their head over heels celebration for the Game 4 walloping as Pop lies in wait, in the elephant grass, yellow eyes just poking out above the water.

Translation: Pop was having the Spurs more dogging it than not in the second half saving any adjustments he'd make against Houston's small ball for tonight.

And once again why I continue to go Square, last night giving us another example of why to do so:

This year, teams getting 25% or less of spread dollars have gone 141-90 (61%) ATS

<20% of money on #Jazz tonight

    Jazz....got walloped.

Bol man!

Live bets are a big hassle and stressful and ya may not get the line you want. It's down to -5 now. Good if I say so myself good talking points

Eric Gordon to start Game 5 for Rockets; Anderson off bench at center.

As expected, going small. Why D'Antoni is revealing this 7 hours before top is bizarre, almost like thumbing your nose at the mad genius.

Not to say that the spurs couldn't win and cover tonight but this trend from 2007 cannot be an indicator of what to come. The reason is :the big asterisk * timmy Duncan is no longer a part of this...he was the main reason they can do all this and winning championships.

I am completely on board with this Spurs -5 selection. The way I see it, any team that scores FIFTY baskets against the Spurs, buries nineteen threes, shoots 53% and rolls up one hundred and twenty-five points......and then immediately has to play the Spurs in San Antonio - is in for a whoopin'! The Rockets won't be ready to play. They just have to show up and take their whoopin'.
