    • Yesterday the total line between Clippers and Detroit went down before the game to 196.5 and the game ended with 197 points exactly.
    • Also yesterday the total line between Houston and Dallas was 207.5 before the game end it ended with 208 points.
    • Also yesterday the total line between Golden State and Brooklyn was 207.5 and it ended with 206 points.
    • The total line between Toronto and Sacramento tonight was 208.5 and the game ended with 208 points.
    • The total line between Utah and Atlanta tonight was 192 and the game ended with 193 points.
    • In the 4th quarter between LA Lakers and Detroit the total line was 182.5 and the game ended with 182 points.

    What does it tell you?
It tells you the NBA is rigged, it's not played naturally (but artificially) and technically betting on the NBA is the same as buying/selling stocks - which is not a bad thing - but just keep in mind somebody "controls" the outcome of the game.

True! Just imagine how can the odds maker predict the totals and spreads of the game? The results of each game are so close...

There is no question NBA is manipulated. Anyone who has gambled for any amount of time knows and understands it. You just have to be able to navigate through the pitfalls. NBA is counter intuitive. Bet accordingly.

So? How do you explain the Pelicans/Knicks game or the Grizzlies/Timberwolves game where the totals came to well below and above the total line respectively. It's all random. Some game totals are closer to the line than others but doesn't mean there is a fix, just the oddsmakers have an abundance of info and stats or whatever they use to chuck out a line.

Totals are a crapshoot anyway. I don't know of many sharps who actually wager on them, just squares.

    The same applies to spread.
Golden State had -14 against Detroit but the line dropped to -12.5 for them to cover, and I've seen it happening lots of times.

And of course the NBA can't make 100% of the games go just by the total - because then everyone would scream it's rigged - so they just let tons of games to slip accordingly.

it may just be the wisdom of the crowd. The line moves by bets on either side. In the end, the line settles where the crowd moves them and it reflects actual probability.

I totally agree with you. In my opinion ALL games are rigged. But...when you place a bet at the NBA you know that. Leave it or continue to 'smile' with the results.
By the way...let's look tonight the 76ers game against Dallas. I guess that Dallas will rest the starters (most of them) and the 76ers will win. Just for those who 'controls' NBA (as you said) to continue make money. And the most important....I guess that Dallas will have the lead by 8-10 points until the 4rth period...and then...the 'party' will begin. Let's see....

    What does it tell you?
It tells you the NBA is rigged, it's not played naturally (but artificially) and technically betting on the NBA is the same as buying/selling stocks - which is not a bad thing - but just keep in mind somebody "controls" the outcome of the game.

I'm not, and what do you mean by 'what is news!' - you realize it doesn't make any sense in English?

Add a game from the NCAA today into the list ... Gonzaga Bulldogs against Washington State Cougars .... spread was 10 points, ended in 9 points.

But the NCAA is usually more open for situations of this kind.

    You did not prove anything.

It's simple math, you gave 6 examples out of hundreds of games played.

Score oddities happen out of many attempts or games played. Very simple math.

One could find the exact same results doing anything hundreds of times.

It would be very difficult for refs to fix the total of a game, without making it blatantly obvious

Here's why the whole theory gets blown out of the water....the OP is stating that games are rigged because the line is so close to the final score.  But that makes no sense, if the score is close that means teasers on both sides hit.  Close scores are horrible for the books and great for us bettors.  The books need blow outs so that at least one side is taken out of the picture for teasers.

If games where rigged to always stay close to the final score then we could all do teasers everyday and get rich!  Think this through people, use your brain before you go straight to the conspiracy.

Do you not understand what Im saying?  You're making it sound like Las Vegas or oddsmakers have insider information or are responsible for the rigging.  So if they are purposely making the games close, then we can get super rich playing teasers.  So why would the books want close games?  How does that benefit them?  The answer is is DOESNT! It hurts them.  So this makes no sense, "Vegas" makes way more money when theres a blowout.

Also did you know in the NFL the oddsmakers only stay within 3 pts of the closing scores around 27% of the time?  I don't know the number in NBA but I'd bet its very close to that number as well.  You point out a handful of games but what about the other games?  So if they get 1 game out of 4-5 to land really close to the final number then you think it's rigged?  Again, think this all through instead of jumping straight to the conspiracy.

What happens here is we bet on 4-5 games and 1 of them is dead on the spread.  We become amazed, completely forgetting that the other 4 games were no where near the spread.  We focus on that one game and think to ourselves, "wow how do these guys do that."

Do the research, covers give you the ability the back check what Im saying.  You can see how the oddmakers are not that good.  They do their job though, balancing money as best as they can.
