Michael Jordan answer Kobe vs Lebron debate

Kobe at 19 years old no where near his prime put up 33 points against Jordan in only 29 minutes.

Kobe smoked him when he was 19 and would really whip Michaels ass today.

Kobe averaged 15.5 points lifetime against Jordan and only averaged 16 minutes a game against him. That almost a point a minute.

The nba was so scared that there poster child Michael would lose his shine, they talked to the owner down in L.A. and said you gotta back your boy Kobe off here. Michael is the NBA money train right now and your making him look bad.

If you take away Kobe's scoring ability -- shot making ability and the 5 titles....what has he accomplished.

He is a great one......but that's about it.  With MJ you have

3rd all time in steals

5 regular season mvps

Voted by sportswriters as the greatest athlete of all time (i didn't say that....the media said that)

The media also said your "boy" was not even the best athlete of the last decade --- they gave that honor to Tiger Woods....Roger Federer.....Lance Armstrong.....Michael Phelps......Brady and Manning....I think pujols and jeter even finished ahead of Kobe......and you know what......imo the media puts all those guys behind MJ

but I do agree that what Rondo brings to the celtics in leadership is equally as important.

Bottom line is this.....LBJ is the better player.

If all players were standing on the sideline to be picked up by owners to build a team right now.......LBJ will be picked before D Wade by the majority of owners in the league.

And the majority of hall of famers wold say he is superior to wade.

D Wade with bosh (without LBJ) is not a better miami heat team than LBJ with bosh (without d Wade)

Heck if that was the case....LBJ would get another MVP....D Wade would not get an MVP leading that heat squad (w/o LBJ)

There are no stats for intangibles my friend.

Wade has all of them, Lebron has very few.

Wade made Miami, and it will stay that way no matter who plays along side him.  Lebron is more naturally gifted and athletic, but at the end of the day Wade is just a big a superstar, has led his team to a championship, and has been there since day 1.

It's his team.  You have a leg to stand on in the other arguments, but not this one.

LBJ is the bigger superstar -- that is not even up for debate.

Say D Wade to your mother -- sister -- or daughter

and when you say LBJ to your  mother - sister -- or daughter   more WOMEN will know who LBJ is.....that is an objective way to measure who the BIGGER superstar is.

I can't believe we are going back and forth on this.....D Wade is a stud....LBJ is just bigger and is a STUD with a caiptal "S".

Even the teams that freed the space to sign this year's free agents will tell you that LBJ was option #1 and D Wade was option #2.

Wow, Mr. Objectivity comes flying in with women being the parameter of who is a bigger star.

So I guess that RPattinson kid from Twilight is a bigger star than Ed Harris because more women would recognize his name.

Both players fill the stat sheets, both have and still get paid the same, except one is a born winner and achieved the ultimate prize, while the other has not.

You're only method is to look at a stat sheet.  Stats are misleading.  A guy can go out and score 20 and 10 and still have a bad game that hindered his team.  And a guy can go out and have 10 and 6 but does all the intangibles and makes his team better.

You said it yesterday, that its a team game.  Shouldn't you base your reasoning then on how that one player makes his team better, as oppose to individual accolades?  Putting up big numbers is pointless if its at the expense of the team.  Now I'm not saying Lebron didn't make the Cavs better...he obviously did.  But there always seemed to be a huge disconnect between him and the team.

One rebuttal to Kobe being a better player is always Lebron has better stats. Lebron makes his team better because he gets more assists. This misleads many into believing that LBJ makes his team better than any other player.

LBJ gets his teamates involved by driving and than kicking out. Now watch how Kobe manipulates defenses. He might not get the assists but he is better at getting his teamates in position to score.

Kobe is head and shoulders above Lebron in terms of basketball IQ. I always get killed for this but Lebron doesn't really understand how to play the game. If he is truely a great player this will come age.

I do not make this stuff up......hence my comment in this thread referencing NBA Hall of Famers say LBJ is grestest today.

Fans is short for fanatics....we are biased --- as am I.

But when I come to debates like this one with you.....I back my stuff up with stats....and you are backing yours up with titles.

I just think it is funny that everyone wants to devalue the title or titles once LBJ wins his share.

That my friend is a double standard and is 'hatin'.

And all this sounds like a "sidekick" or someone needing another player to carry him.  what LBJ needs is help and so does D Wade....both players are studs....I just think history will remember LBJ as the better player (IMO).

fans are biased...they have a favorite player...they have a favorite team

hall of famers are more objective than fans especially as a group.

Kobe is the best player currently but I agree that Lebron might have a chance at the end. What I don't agree is your view on "the last minute who got the call". Just like leadership, it can't be measured but it doesn't mean it's not there.
