Michael Jordan answer Kobe vs Lebron debate

When LBJ is done he will have scored more pts, grabbed more rebounds...dished more assist and blocked more shots than

Kobe bryant....Michael Jordan (will not pass MJ in career steals)....and D Wade

Yet folks in covers say these guys are better than LBJ

Now MJ....absolutley is the best ever

but all other guys will be surpassed by LBJ as he earns rings becuase every statistical category LBJ will be superior to D Wade and Kobe Bryant

So what criteria are we looking at here?   Likeability?

Players are measured on pts scored, assists dished, rebs grabbed, steals made and blocked shots

all of which LBJ does at an extemely HIGH level......all he needs is the ring collection and now that he has other great teammates (which all champions need).....he will begin to accumulate some rings.

Believe that.

No "if's" allowed.

The media and the fans have created this criteria that you must have rings ("ships) in order to be considered a GREAT ONE or more importantly to get in the room to be considered in the debate as the BEST TO EVER PLAY the game you must have won "ships"

MJ had Wilt Chamberlain when it comes to Championships and MVPS.....period....end of discussion --- nobody can touch MJ....he is untouchable.   We agree there!!

But, since the media and fans has used that as the criteria......that same criteria is how LBJ should be measeured (sneaky sobs trying to change it -- funny )

But anyway, LBJ said okay if it is about "ships" --- I will join up with another great player to get these ChampionshipS.....and that is with an "S" on the end.

So, if we follow the rationale that has been used the past 20 or so years......once LBJ accumulates his 6 "ships" like MJ and has superior stats to MJ then he enters the room too to be considered the greatest ever.  (IMO he will not be greater than MJ)

That my friend is logical.

Now what has been occurring lately, is folks trying to re-write the criteria --- which is bias and I guess the better word is "hatin".  He is a sidekick ..... he had to play with Wade....Wade is a better player.....  if something is repeated enough people will believe it to be so .... a lie can go around the world ten times as the truth slowly sails for some to see and recognize.

IMO, it has always been about titles won when assessing players legacyt and titles is exactly what the Heat (and LBJ) is about to start winning.

So, as we proceed with the logic, once LBJ has the ships and has superior stats to everyone..........then what????

I already see what the haters are doing.........why couldn't he win it alone in cleveland with mo williams and verajah? 

He had to play with other all stars --- so he ain't all that. 

Hence my opinion......if LBJ stats are superior to Kobe and D Wade and he has more ships than Kobe......then LBJ will be deemed better at the end of their careers.

MJ is untochable (2 gold medals, 2 time slam dunk champ, 6 finals MVP, defensive player or year, 2nd all time in career steals, led the league 3 years in steals, 10 time scoring champ, etc...etc..etc...)

But D wade and everyone else will be exclipsed by LBJ --- after he gets the ships and have the superior CAREER stats.

Again, Wilt Chamberlain did not get the "SHIPS"  so he is not even in the room to be debated on.

Believe that.

And why is that so?   How amny rings would Kobe have won if he did not play with Shaq or if Gasol never came to LA?

How can anyone win titles alone.

The hate and bias folks have for their favorite players and team makes us all (me too probably) to lose perspective.

Titles is titles......it is not an * next to Magic Johnson name b/c he played with Kareem Abdul Jabbar....the NBA's all time leader in pts scored.....or BIG GAME James.....James Worthy...etc..etc...

There is no * next to Kobe's first three titles when Shaq was everyone's MVP of the Finals and the Regular Season and was the most dominant force in the game

There is no * or worthless tag being placed to Michael Jordan who had to have the RIGHT supporting cast and yes great players like Pippen (top 50 athlete of all time) and Rodman....

Everybody must have other great players to get a ring and an outstanding organization to win multiple "ships".

So how in the world is it worthless for LBJ and a different set of rules for everyone else?  

What the sports world and media appear to be doing here and debating is a good old fashioned ----- Double Standard. 

his 1 hr special might have been idiotic but how can you blame him for joining wade and bosh? this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to play with two of your buddies that just happen to be all-stars. you would jump at the chance also. the way he left might be tasteless but the reason why is totally valid. its all about championships and this is his best shot. the fact that anyone thinks cleveland was a good team is nuts. lebron made that team good. lets see what they do this year. any team where it has been said that varejao is the 2nd-3rd best player on the team is not a good team period. kobe would not win with that cleveland team. i am no lebron fan but take the hating out of it and his dis-tasteful departure and he made the best decision. i am actually a wade fan and he is always going to run the show in miami, if you think about it for a superstar like lebron to go to miami where he is obviously going to take a backseat to wade is actually a sacrifice for these stars, which he is doing to win rings and he is taking less money.

this is the best move for him to win. he wasnt going to win in cleveland anytime soon with what they had and who they could get. no one wants to go there.

I agree with that perspective.

But what I don't agree with is the notion that the league's second leading scorer (and former scoring champ), two time regular season MVP (2nd most votes received all time after shaq)......a man that averages 27.9 career ppgs......practically 7 boards and 7 assists .......needs someone to LEAD him and he is a sidekick.

That is simply not logical at all.

I agree withyou that LBJ will beat a lot of those guys in stats, i doubt he beats out kobe though in points...  LBJs scoring avg will go down now that he is playing with Wade and Bosher.

The key with LBJ is that he came into the league at age 18 "scoring right away"

So many of the "baby boomers" (early entrants to the league) have a learning curve or is not developed offensively

Kobe....did not start

MJ......played college two years then took two years off

Wade...played four years of college (or at least 3)

Kareem...played four years of college

So LBJ is clearly on pace to pass everyone as evidenced by ESPN sportscenter sending subtle reminders that LBJ is the "youngest player to reach 5,000 --- 10,000, ---- 15,000 points.

This is being accomplished becuase he came into the league scoring right away at age 18.

IMO he will average no less than 25 ppg with Miami --- he and D Wade will be scoring option #1 and #2 and will account for over half of Miami's points......Bosh will step it up whenever either player is having an off nite.   Neither Wade or LBJ will lead the league in scoring again and will not even be a threat to do so.......but their ppgs will still be 25+ per game --- which is a sufficient pace for LBJ to make a lot of noise around the next time this contract expires with the Heat.

I feel he will reach 30,000 career points by the time this contract expires in 2016....and he will be 31 years old.
