nelson's +/- numbers were better than most of his team
In 26 minutes he had 2 points and 3 assists. He played like shit, he's small, he couldn't make his jumper and he made a completely boneheaded play with the game on the line. If he was bigger than 5'4 he might have been able to block out on Gasol in OT to grab the loose board.

I don't know. It looked like pretty good defense to me. He had his hand right in Fisher's face but he was just able to make it. I guess he could play him a little tighter but still...
They shoulda fouled though...
No, he didn't! He was way too far away for that outstretched hand to impede Fisher at all. Nelson is a dumbass for the ages.

No he wouldn't have. The idea is to force the player to not get off a three-point shot under any circumstances. The is simple basketball, the coaches have told him this thousands of times during the season.

Blame it to Stan Van Gundy who decided to play Nelson more than Alston. And Nelson just cost Magic a crucial game and backer's dough.
Stan just sucks big time, he should be fired. Orlando won game 3 because Alston scored 20, and now Van Gundy screwed the whole thing by playing Nelson in clutch 4th Q with his crack head coaching.

I have no idea why Alston wasn't in the game...he's the one who's gotten them through the playoffs. What are they doing leaving Fish run the ball up the court anyway...with Fish hitting that 3 ball before, the Magic had to keep a close eye on him and Kobe, and maybe Ariza, but other than that...let Gasol get the 2 point dunk. Toss it into someone other than turkeyglue or howard, and make the 2 fts...
at least i coved some of the loses with the under...still was scary with OT, and potential 2nd OT

to those people saying Nelson made clutch assists on 4th, don't you think Rafer couldnt have done that as well???
The stupid coach is the one to blame here. Why put a 5'4 guy on a defense possession??? why not put a more defensive player like Rafer or Reddick? Someone a little bit taller than 5'4. Yes nelson screwed up no questions asked, but its the freaking stupid coach that screwed this team up first.

It came down to shot selection and hitting the shot when it counts...the magics were up by 3 at the end stretch when lewis has the ball he pumps fake the 3's and drove to the basket and miss the floater. the guy suck, no wonder he does not like to drive to the basket. should have just took the chance and down the 3's. had he hit either the three or the two the magics would have been up by 5 or 6 game would have been over.
hello gundy in love w/ nelson. don't know why he put nelson in that long even in ot n rafer on the bench. rafer was the reason they win game 3 and nelson i believe only have 7/11 minutes? come on now, i wanted the series to go to 6 but now i don't know what to do. i have 10k on la in 6 for the series but now the series is over to soon. think i need to buy all in on la game 5. any thought?

IDK... I blame it on the master of panic, who has been fucking up this rotation from game one. I had LA -3.5 alt spread +165 and also Rafer over 14.5 points+assists -155. He had 9 in the first quarter!!! Then gets basically pulled the rest of the game with a few quick appearances....
Rafer was on fire and helped them get a double digit lead then this BS coach puts in Jameer and hands the game away. Stat line:
Rafer 11 points 2 assists
Nelson 2 points 3 assists
And Nelson played basically the same amount of time as Rafer according to this site, which to me is suspect because Nelson was in pretty much the entire second half and OT along with appearing a few times in the first half. Regardless I do not think it was a coincidence that when Nelson went in the Lakers came roaring back.
To me blaming an out of snyc Nelson for this loss would be like blaming Grossman for the Bears Super Bowl loss. It is not Grossman's fault he sucks, it is the coaches fault for not realizing it and sticking with him despite a better option being available (in this case Orton). It is not Nelson's fault he is out of shape/sync it is Stan Van Gundy's fault for not recognizing it and giving Rafer extra minutes, especially in crunch time. I do not remember seeing Rafer once in the fourth quarter and OT and damned if I was not looking.
I am very glad he did this so my LA -3.5 could hit but I sure do think this coach is a piece of shit who fucked over his team, his fans and anyone who bet on them tonight. The type who would rather lose his way than adjust despite all evidence to the contrary. No way this jackass deserves a ring. No way.

I was going to bring that up as well. Why is he even on the court defending in that situation? He has zero length or ability to alter a shot. Derek Fisher is not getting that clean of a look if someone like Courtney Lee, who has a wingspan longer than 5 feet, is guarding him. He's just not.
