It's just not going to happen. If it's on the level the Heat go down in 5 games. They're not on the same level as the Mavs right now. They have not faced a team with this many strong options and it's about to cost them.
Now let's suspend reality and say that it was scripted. Storytelling rules would say that you want the Heat to lose here to build drama for next season. The theme would be "Can they learn from their first finals trip together which ended in a loss and rebound to claim the title in year 2?" The question gets answered with a resounding yes as the Heat win the title in their second year together. And then in the final year of their three year deals the question becomes, "Can they repeat as champs?" And then whatever happens there, "Do they resign for another round of this together?" And it goes on and on. Simple storytelling rules.

I would disagree on what is best for the NBA. Stern has to look longterm and the scenario outlined above makes more sense long term (again all of this depends on whether or not you believe that Stern is manipulating the playoffs which I don't). They do have a chance to elevate a star who has been under the radar for years in Nowitzki, not to mention future hall of famer Jason Kidd winning a title. There is just as much good (from the NBA's standpoint) that can come from a Mavs win as a Heat win.
