Funk's NBA bets - 2013/2014

This movement could be trap but i still like the Warriors even on the big spread... Every of their 4 winnings against SA last year was with 6 or more And Warriors need this win because their record is not so good so far (they are out of the first 8 so far) so i think they will step up and win this with ease... especially on the national television in front of the home fans. This 6 points are not so big with Tony, Manu and Tim out against one of the best home teams in the league

Bad new for us Funk, my book now GS -7, Duncan, Manu wont' play tonight, also Parkers still on nursing his chin. No big gun for San Antonio tonight but I hate to play the game like this.

Sorry man... i pull the trigger on - 6. Now every sportsbook i use is -6.5 or -7. I catch them on - 6 in our local bulgarian online sportsbook. They sometimes react slow to the line movement and i play there if there is fast movements... I take the risk with GSW... hope they will cover.

too weird a game and too much unknown and too much line jump…GS should roll and i always root for you and your tailors FF but I remember too many games over the last few years where Pop pulls this sh*t and the scrubs play their behind off.

S.A  scrubs as you called them are way hell of alot better than any other NBA team scrubs including GS. now the game is pretty much even, the only disadvantage is homecourt & btb games and even then I still like my chances  on the best coached scrubs S.A + the points it is!!!!

And thats why personally i stay away from double digit spreads. Teams gets up, well on their way to covering the spread, back ups come in and you watch your bet slowly crumble. Very frustrating. Especially when you lose by 1 point 

AceRothstein27 you are 100% right about big spreads. I will play every ATS on OKC until end of the season because of the winning b2b trend. I'm sure that at the end i will be + units on this matchup.

Take a break yesterday. Awful schedule it was. Today things looks better. Today:

Celtics - 1 looks ok. Wizards best weapon so far this season is 3 pointers and Celtics are one of the best defense downtown team. I like their playing style this season with the new young coach. No stars but solid performance sometimes. Wizards are 2 in a row winning streak at road... could they build it to 3 ?... not so sure.

Rockets - 2 is cool line but little fishy... Yesterday Houston struggled against big team (IND) and today they face another big team... In other side Pacers defend excellent the outside are (3pt) this season so far and we don't say such a thing for Pistons which are way worse in this stats. And we all know what happens to teams which don't defend well downtown against Houston... blowout. Houston are 5-0-1 ATS on b2b this season which is very impressive... with 3 wins against other b2b (like DET tonight):

I think one of the eastern teams Magic or Bobcats tonight won't cover... but who ?

Philly/Bucks is awful game... don't deserve my money.

Pelicans + 9 is not bad idea. Davis is back... he will be little rusty offensive but i think he will put some good defense on Aldridge. NO has not bad three points shooters (like Portland who have one of the best) so they could keep this game close in both paces. Totals is too high to me.... NO are not the best scoring road team so if they keep this game close... it will be way under. And just don't see how Portland could score every game 110+ this streak have to end somewhere...

Stay away from Warriors cause of the big spread. GS will win with ease here but there are too much points to care about... Over seems nice.

That's for the games that have lines yet. I wait with big expectations Spurs and Suns lines.

funk, i have a lot of respect for you, but it is obvious you dont know much about the pelicans...first, they rank tied for 9th in the entire NBA for ROAD pts scored per game...additionally they are near the top of the league in 3 pt %....combine that with the fact they are the leagues third worse in terms of defensive efficiency, while portland is a high scoring team that can shoot the three and doesnt play much defense....the over of 210 should be crushed tonight in portland.

I mean (don't write it my mistake) against western opponents. This 9th ranking is because three games against crap eastern teams: 131 on CHI, 129 on PHI and 103 on Knicks. Against west the are in the 90-95 range.. check it. But maybe you are right about this over. I don't play totals anymore so i will just watch. What do you think on sides this game ?

and i play mostly totals....dont have much opinion on sides...usually easier for me to just handicap pts and im better at quarters..BUT pace will also be quite fast tonight in portland.....im not being argumentative, but i dont think it matters much if a team scores against eastern or western conference teams, its all basketball. to me those are anamolies...anyway, maybe play a smal bit on the over for giggles and grins....i got to run, errands await....later funk..

Hey Funk why are you taking the mavs?They played an OT yesterday...and that's a team with a lot of veterans,they could be tired.Nowitzki said himself that in the OT he ran out of gas...instead phoenix is playing well right now....
Regarding the cavs/bulls game,i m with you on the cavaliers(just a lean) and the under.The bulls seem incapable to score right now...
Good chance for the cavs to steal a road victory.

MoreGeezer just have a feeling. There is no pure logic in NBA this season. That's my observations. Everything points to Suns tonight... they win at road and now are home against team that lose in OT last night at home... but who cares who is more tired... this is NBA... every team plays every night and we see such big surprises in all season. Mavericks owns Suns past seasons.... the line is fishy to me... just moved to - 2.5 for more "Hot Suns team with 18-6-1 ATS record" action. The "smart" money are on Dallas tonight IMO... Old dogs of Mavericks are my man tonight... just like Portland's game two weeks ago when Mavs win outright against best home team in NBA. Sometimes you have bad opponent who every time plays good against you and problems are big... And don't believe on what players said... everything is with some purpose... like all these injuries at the final moment before the game... everything is act play... You think Houston and Harden for example decide that he is not ready for tonight just a minutes ago ?
