YTD 1-0 (+0.9 units) (1 unit = Php1000 = about USD$50)
SBC-16.5 --> 3 units (POD) SSC-5.5 --> 2 units SBC 149.5 OVER --> 1 unit MIT 128.5 OVER --> 1 unit
I will back SBC the entire season, even without Su Daniels. This team has a very deep line-up, and over the past 3-4 years, they had been a cashcow, regardless if it's -5.5 or -21.5 handicap.
SBC 149.5 over is another choice mainly because of their running game. Without Su, Perps will be able to score inside at least, but SBC running game will still be there. I'm projecting an 90-65 kind of a final score.
I pick SSC not because they are strong, but because JRU is weak (assumption). Losing almost the entire starting 5 will cost JRU huge, not to mention no more Etame/Njei. SSC has a new recruit as well, so we'll see if that guy has game or not. No Abueva, no problem, because they have that recruit guy, and Sanggalang too.
MIT 128.5 over is also my choice simply because I know MIT can score. Letran will also try to score on their end, but over the years, Letran is a team who fouls a lot. MIT will go to the line a lot as well (assumption), and should they make their freethrows, then 128.5 will most likely hit. I won't back MIT here because Letran-MIT had always been a great rivalry, so I expect a close game. This game could go either way because Letran's specialty is full-court trapping defense, and if MIT commits a lot of turnovers, then it will be a fastbreak-layup fiasco for Letran. On the other hand, if MIT takes good care of the possessions, they have Alan Mangahas to rely upon on the halfcourt offense. My projection is a final score of 70-63.
