Kobe is not in MJs league.
I will not google it becuase I do not think it is necessary to do so...but c'mon that comparison does MJ an injustice.
The MVPs....regualar season and NBA Finals [PLURAL] that MJ earned are too numerous to even want to put Kobe in the MJ category...he has not been the man long enough and has not received the admiration that MJ received for two or three decades???
and then of course the common denominator that both Kobe and MJh have is Phil Jackson.
And Phil Jackson wrote a book saying Kobe is
"SELFISH AND UNCOACHABLE" [hence the birth of the term Ko Me and I have been calling him that ever since Phil Jackson statements told me a little more about this guys character so I coined the phrase Ko Me]
Yes Phil came back and coached the team...heck he is boning the owner's daughter for crying out loud.....if they gave me millions and the owners daughter was diggin me, I'd go back and coach the selfish guy too.
But nowhere in history are the NBA Legends called selfish and uncoachable by a great NBA coach and then the are so beloved by the fans the way Kobe is by laker fans....I say you guys are either brain-washed or are just flat out die-hard true and loyal fans to your team....which is a GOOD THING.
My quoting of some of the media is only to support my part of the debate....but make no mistake about it, Kobe too has plenty of people in the media that loves his offensive skills that you keep citing.....and there are plenty of media people that like him just as much as their are people that like LBJ.........BUT I do believe that more in the media (which as a whole I would say are objective) say LBJ is better than Kobe right now....Kobe is just on the better team right now.
I do not put ANY player in the category of MJ and quite frankly those that do have a very short memory of what MJ really was....if you want me to, I can go to NBA.com and compare and contrast their accomplishments and accolades AND it really and truly is NO comparison at all.
I still say you and other Kobe lovers are in love with his offense and are blinded to what BB is really all about.
My constant reference to LBJs numbers and Kobes numbers should not be misconstrued.
Numbers alone does not make someone superior to another player.....but to ignore them all-together is illogical. And I think those that say Kobe is better ...Kobe is better....is ignoring the numbers all-together....becuase the numbers show that LBJ is better ACROSS THE BOARD IN ALL CATEGORIES.
So when people say Kobe is better what exactly are they saying?
I think it is they love his jump shot.....w/o Shaq and Gasol he clearly would not have won anything...which is the case with LBJ...he is waiting on his dominant Shaq (we do not know if a 38 yr old Shaq will be dominant) and he is also waiting on an efficient low post player like Gasol.
So in the end I want the pretty, intelligent, career oriented, FINE and SEXY, good in bed, soul-mate for my selection [ WHICH IS LBJ] THE TOTAL PACKAGE [best player]
And others just went the sexy girl with the jump shot that takes a lot of shots and is quote on quote "clutch" [Which is Kobe]
I cannot break it down any better than that....one person does it all and does it all REAL GOOD ...he just needs his true sidekick...afterall BB is a team sport, this is not tennis or golf.
while the other (Kobe) has infatuated everyone with his well rounded jump shooting game.
Like I said, we all see things differently....and will not be able to change anyone's mind.
When both players careers are done....LBJ will be considered the better player by objective minded people that are not fans of the Cavs or Lakers.......and will be the 2nd athlete to earn over a Billion dollars in his career.......[Tiger Woods will be the first to do so this winter to exceed a billion dollars]
OH, and I almost forgot....when people compare Kobe to MJ they are basically saying that Kobe is the best athlete of our generation and if they say he is better than MJ they are saying that KoMe is the greatest athlete of all time......becuase that is exactly what Mj was voted....the GREATEST ATHLETE OF ALL TIME........to me only one guy is approaching that and that is Tiger Woods (not Kobe)
And only one guy that might be able to approach Tiger will not be Ko Me, it wcould possibly be LBJ, but he must have titles to even get into that debate.
