Took a F-in bath on Orlando. Feel it was the right side - some bad shots by Orlando down the stretch. Then they let Gibson and Williams beat them from the outside and then Howard fouls out. If Howard doesn't foul out - Orlando covers 8.. Oh well, enough of it already...
LA LAKERS @ DENVER -5.5
A series of back-and-forth positioning. Billups only scores 12pts and no Nugget with a double double in Game 5. Nuggets get beat in the paint 54-36. What do you expect playing in LA. Despite this - I have always said that this is a 7-game series. It starts tomorrow night in Denver. Yes LAL has proven it can win at the Pepsi Center - but this is a CRISIS game and Billups will show up as will Melo. Question is will JR and the supporting cast. I like Kleiza too (10pts 5 boards) in Game 5. I think LA will settle for the loss and take it back to LA. They haven't shown the grit and tenacity down the stretch to break down a team with their backs against the wall.
In Denver's blowout win at home in Game 4 - backs against the wall down 1-2 - they come out swinging and Billups has 24 while Melo was battling the flu. But JR carried his weight with 24 as well while most everyone else was double digit scoring. In that game Points in the paint were reminisent of Game 5 in LA - 52 to 34 in favor of Denver. ATTACK THE BASKET AND ALLOW THE FLOOR GENERAL (BILLUPS) TO CONTROL THE GAME.
