Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - this is the intro to the 2-disc album of the same name. Once it finishes, it goes right into "Tonight Tonight," the second track and single. This CD and this instrumental (being track 1 on Disc 1) will always have special meaning in my life

Explosions in the Sky are a great instrumental band I discovered while looking up the soundtrack to a great movie - Friday Night Lights.
Explosions in the Sky - To West Texas (distracting fan made video but great piece)
