I think you are giving the Rangers too much credit. Yanks in 5
I know you don't lay juice, so what are you going to bet in ALCS, 165? Bet Yanks RL -1.5/-2.5?

You might want to take a closer look at CJ's starts against the Yanks... He has not pitched as bad as it is made out to be... His last game where he only went 3 innings and 4 earned runs blows that era up...
He pitched @ Yankee stadium- 6 IP 3 earned runs first of the season
@ home- Pitched 5.1 IP and gave up 2 earned runs...

The Yankees last 5 meetings against the Rangers were started by Burnett twice (#4 starter who has a win and loss), Vazquez twice (0-2 and not on the postseason roster) and Moseley (the long reliever). And they faced Cliff Lee twice, CJ Wilson twice and Tommy Hunter. The Yankees swept them earlier in the season in Texas when THEY had their starters (CC, AJ and Andy v Feldman, Harden and Wilson).
So the season series is 4-4.

Not really sure why all the hype about the Yanks beating up on a Minnesota team without its best hitter...
You guys do realize that the Rangers took out the best team in baseball
...... And they beat them 3 times at the Trop ![]()

Why would it be stronger? Burnett will pitch a maximum of 1 game against Hunter, a righty, in Yankee Stadium where Berkman woul be the 8 hitter, and all switch hitters will be turned around to pull the ball to the short porch.

Yeah, Yanks and Rangers did tie up the series in the regular seaon but not "The Yanks Own the Rangers".
That was regular season and Friday will start a brand new season.
I know. I didn't say that the Yanks Own the Rangers. But the fact that Friday starts a brand new season already gives the Yankees the edge because that "brand new season" is being played in Mid-October.

3 earned at Yankee Stadium but 5 overall. 5.1 innings means the Yankees got his pitch count up early. If they face a pitcher that allows them to do that...it's trouble.

That Minnesota team without their best hitter had a winning percentage of over 70%. And how many people were hyping the Twins because "The Yankees pitching sucks"? But if you really think the Twins are the "best team in baseball", you haven't been waching closely. They were a shell of their former self.

Ron Washington said Cliff Lee won't start on short rest. That was for the ALDS...it could change now but I don't think so.

Love the discussion ,,,thanks guys ,,,,leaning to txasss rangers...
I know cc starts but seems he was faltering in the first game down 4-0 and gardinhire blu it not pulling his starting pitcher after he started walking the yanks...
Youth vs the ageing evil empire.... rangers in 5 .....![]()

Sparky - My gut tells me the Rangers can not beat the Yankees in a 7 game series with Lee going in only 2 of those games. However this is where I see the flaw in your logic from your first post:
1 - You have the Yankees going down 2-1. If that happens, then the Yanks MUST win games 4-6 to avoid a game 7, which would be in Texas with Lee on the mound.
2 - CC is probably the 4th or 5th best starting pitcher remaining in this post season (which is still fantastic, behind Halladay, Lee, Timmy, and your choice Hamels/Oswalt). I can see him winning 2 games very easily. However, if he stumbles in either start, I think NY is in deep deep trouble. (FWIW, if Lee stumbles the same can be said for Texas, I just think as both are former Indians pitchers and I follow both very closely I would say Lee is the more likely not to trip up).
And for what it is worth, Lee will pitch games 3 and 7 if necessary.

Yea...I heard that. Sounds like a good move to me. Like I said...I would rather have Pettitte on the mound than anyone else in a big game. If it goes to 7...Pettitte v Leeis trustworthy. Hughes, on the other hand, has had better numbers on the road.
I guess we'll see what happens.

This series is very evenly matched except for MO

I wasnt hyping up the Twins.......
I never said the Twinkies were the best team in baseball.... I am guessing you meant to say the Rays there.... The Rays had the best regular season record so yes they were the best team in baseball... And the Rangers won 3 games at the Trop where it is tough to win..... Keep taking the Rangers lightly.... This Yankees team doesnt scare me like they usually do....
