Not really. In the 1970's everybody was getting skrewed over by bookmakers lines, weather, injuries, etc. There was no way to get any information. Hardly any games on tv to watch. Then you'd have to drive the car up on a hill and tune the AM radio. Listening to your game in static fading in and out. If no games on you could get scores every half hour on the radio. Or a 25 cent telephone call to a score-line service listening to tout advertising. You guys think I'm making this s#it up but we degenerate gamblers had a bitch of an existence.
