Took a week off, we shall see how this goes.
Mariners/Orioles Over 8.5 -118
Rutschman is out of the line up again, which only fuels the fire that he is being traded. But, the Os are starting to get production from other parts of the line up. Gilbert has some decent numbers, but he's been getting kinda lucky. His hard hit rate is nearly 50%, with an expected higher SLG than his number is. The Mariners offense is one of the worst offenses in MLB against lefties, but Rogers hasn't been any good aside from his last start. The wind is blowing out to left all night in the double digits.
Tampa Bay Rays +104
How can I pass up a team that is 22-9 at home, with their best pitcher going, @ plus money?? The answer is, I can't. They certainly haven't been playing all that great as of late, but Boston hasn't really either, and guys like Diaz and Caminero can change games quickly. This will be both line ups second crack at each pitcher, and I trust the bats of the Rays more so than those of the Sox, to make the adjustments.
St. Louis Cardinals +110
Cards have the current active win streak (with MIL I believe) in MLB at 4, and now have their best pitcher for game 1 vs the Mets in Queens. Peralta has been great, but I worry about the offense. No Lindor, Robert Jr, or Polanco. Once you get past Soto, it's a pretty easy line up to navigate through. That was the case for the Cards too, but getting Nootbar back, and the call ups of Torres and Crooks have seemed to spark something. The pen is still ok, O'Brien is pulling some magic tricks to end some games, but he's getting the job done. Mets just returned from the West Coast too.
Cubs/Rockies Over 12.5 -110
The wind is blowing out at Coors, and temps are in the 80s. Baseballs will be flying. Rockies have their best arm going, but their bullpen is god damn bad. As a staff, they've given up 39 runs, over the last 4 games, and 66 over the last 7 games. Their offense can contribute a bit tonight too vs an average starter in Rea, and a below average pen.
San Diego Padres +110
Burns has been sensational for the Reds, but they are free falling as a club. Lost 8 of 10, and 5 straight. Padres are doing with Giolito who has been better than I thought he would be. Coming back from injury, he's looked a bit like his old self. I don't know where Cincy gets offense from though. No Elly in the line up has proven to be a problem for this offense, so I'll fade them until they prove otherwise.
Washington Nationals -106
The Giants find it very difficult to score, and they are getting what is likely the Nats best arm tonight. Alvarez was sharp in his return vs Miami, and gets the nod again vs the reeling Giants. Houser has been fine, but he doesn't give them any length, and turning it over to the pen hasn't always been a great idea. The Nats are going to score, and I can't say the same about the Giants.
