Yeah, Upton starting late really seems to have hurt his average this year, however, he seems to be coming around. The emergence of Zobrist and Barlett (before injury) has been a huge surprise for this team. As for Burrell, he doesn't seem to be filling in well at all as a full time DH, I think his time has passed him.
Just like Tex...started off slow but by watching him, you'd think he's hitting in the mid .300s. And by what you said...thats why I can't count the Rays out just yet. They have such a great team, but their bullpen is worse than the Yanks' right now. Burrell really needs to step up his game. He's still a free agent in my fantasy league and I could use a really good bat right now.

Exactly, Tex was ice cold early, but now he is knocking the cover off the ball. Well the Rays pen started off awful, which was their bread and butter last year, however, the Rays relievers have run their scoreless streak to 22 1/3 innings. The bullpen has not allowed a run in 20 1/3 innings on the homestand. Granted the Nats were involved there, but still, it's a step in the right direction. They still have the same arms in the pen, minus Percival now due to injury, which in my opinion is fine. And they added Choate, Nelson, and Cormier, who have been formidable. I think it all relies on Wheeler, Howell, and Balfour though.
Is Zobrist a FA in ur fantasy league? Man, I just don't see Burrell heating up at all this year, we'll see though.

Well that scoreless streak is impressive because hitting is certainly not the Nationals' problem, it's all their poor pitching. As for Zobrist, I didn't pick him up early enough. Somebody got the needle in the haystack when they picked him up as soon as Iwamura went on the DL. Boy did he get lucky there.

Another way to improve the Yanks. Tell Luke Greinke to get some tips from him brother to become a dominant pitcher. Luke is 0-6 with a 4.01 ERA in Class-A for the Staten Island Yankees.
And I can't say this enough...call up Pat Venditte and give him a shot. He's a closer for Single-A Charleston, has a 0.64 ERA, pitched in 28 innings and struck out 38 batters and walked 1. He's given up 2 earned runs and a homer. Give the man a shot.

Saying im not a "real" gambler is not an insult. I bet casually. Im on here often and like to debate stuff. If people want to bet for or against their teams or on their rivals thats fine i just dont. So i apologize for not being a real gambler. Whatever that is. Hmm really you would like a rotation of hallady, grienke, cc and johan over wang and hughes? You must be a real gambler to know that. And you might as well make fun of your end with dicek, penny, and wake. Especially dicek. He is your version of wang. Garbage
now Dice-K is not worth the price, but he's certainly better than the guy with a 14.34 ERA right now.
...and you're stupid not to take a rotation of aces, but of course the Red Sox are far from a great rotation. They do have the best bullpen in the league, though, even with yesterday's shelling (or maybe this weekend's).
I will say that TB looks great with that 1-7, but if they were healthy that would mean much less time for Zobrist and I definitely don't want that with him leading my fantasy team.

You know the rays are the team because of their slow start that for some reason is left out. Bullpen aside they are probably better than both nyy and boston when playing their best. They were my preseason ws prediction. A ton of talent on that team. Its just a matter of getting those final outs.

Everything wins in oct. Balanced teams do. The yanks title teams wouldnt have won without there offense. No way. 2002 angels won with their offense. Id say the phillies won with their offense last year. Great pen also for them id say. You can win with offense. Skip to the nba for a sec.. 3 pt shooting offensive teams cant make the finals right? Well they did
You are crazy to think that good pitching does not beat good hitting in October.....
Ok if you want to talk about the Magic, what eventually happened in the Finals ??? Good defense beat Good Shooting.....
Magic did come out of the weak Eastern Conference also....

So if greinke, beckett, halladay, johan and cc have the royals offense do they win the ws? Nope
Sometimes I wonder how old you are......Can you really not comprehend what I am saying ?? I am not saying that the best pitchers in baseball can go out there with a T-ball team and beat a major league team....

Well don't worry, cuz Iwamura is out for the full season and Maddon is set with Zobrist at 2nd base. And they just sent Brignac down to make room for Bartlett at SS. So the only time Zobrist won't play is when he takes a day off and Aybar will most likely fill in for him.

You would gladly take Dice-K, Penny, and Wake and put them into your rotation.....
Add into the fact that Dice-K has been injured....He went 18-4 last year

We can take this to the nba forum but the east is not as weak as it used to be. Keep in mind some of the nbas worst teams play in the west so some of these midlevel teams like dal, new orleans, utah and phx beat up on them. I know you need good pitching to win but you also need to be able to score. Yes it is possible to outscore an opponent. Your pitching doesnt have to be hall of fame worthy, just have quality guys. The yanks rotation has that especially compared to years past which isnt saying much i know. Just as easily as burnett can last 2 innings he can also dominate. The bullpen is the big issue. I just was not to impressed all season long with the phils rotation but they got it done.
Eastern Conf is much improved

Im 28 for whatever its worth. Why would i take those 3? Im not taking them over cc,joba, burnett. Whats the point of a wang/dicek deal? Wake no thanks. The only part of the team we need to catch up to you is in the bullpen and the sox in return need to catch up in the lineup.

Never said that Eastern Conference was not improved....But Detroit made the Playoffs and so did Philly.....Look at the top 9 or so in the West......
I would have taken Phoenix easily over Detroit and Phoenix did not even make the playoffs.

I never said that they would be better than your top 3.....Of course you would not take a 40+ year old guy over CC or Joba....But none of those guys are top 2 on the Bosox either....So dont really understand what you were talking about there

True there but going through the celts and cavs is no cupcake walk even without kg.
You dont think cc is in your top 2? Forget about the postseason starts for a min and cc is better than beckett career wise. More wins, lower era, pitches more innings, more complete games and gets hurt less. I know about becketts 2 dominant postseasons and ccs struggles but still that can change at any time. CC has the ability to throw a good game in the playoffs.

And Boston without KG is a TOTALLY different team. I admit that Orlando is a really good team and will be even better in the years to come. But Defense just like you saw last year in Boston/ Lakers series will prevail in the end.
