I can't stomach it anymore. Vinnie and Salvy DO NOT belong in the 3 and 4 slots. It is obvious, but it continues to happen. Most folks, off the top of their head, will blame Quatraro, BUT THAT AIN'T NECESSARILY THE CASE.
I don't think it is Quatraro, managers get fired for such poor decisions.
G.M.'s (Piccolo) and owners (Allen) have been known to force these decisions; usually because "We are paying that guy a lot of money, play him, pretend he is a super-star". In my opinion Salvy is untoucahble, he has earned it! But, he no longer belongs in the critical 4 slot. Vinnie may be a bust, and if so they should find out. If he can't hack the pressure, drop him down in the lineup and see if he responds.
Today I watched Maikel surprise the defense by taking two on an obvious single. Bobby drove him and himself in with an inside the park home run. Pure hustle out of those two, which we always see, but of course the next three were easy outs, so had Bobby not done what he did you get another O-fer in the first inning.
Who is the problem?
