The 5 hole will be open all year on the diamond. If batters don't start swinging for contact(especially in a 2 strike count), hitting is still gonna look ugly.
I guess it's a matter of if/when we see a change in hitting philosophy. Things usually take a while. And remember that a lot of the players today have been taught the analytical way of hitting(launch angles, swing paths, barrel ball, bat speed, etc), from a young age.
All these "newer" hitting philosophies never promoted ball placement per se, but rather emphasis on power, angle, and exit velocity. All knowing that these hits would happen at a lower percentage, and it was still taught. Basically telling players that it's OK to fail at the plate multiple times, but when you do hit it that one time, oh boy hold on it's going to the moon.
I'm kind of interested to see how everything works out. I have no idea how it's gonna look. Could be a dumpster fire. Or does it start looking like an older brand of ball when it comes to hitting?

Interesting statistic I ran: The 14th Congressional district in Georgia is 85% white, and 85% of those are rural rednecks, skinheads, hillbllies and neo-nazis.
.85 x .85 estimates that 72% of that district should vote for MTG, BUT, she only got 66% of the vote in 2022, which I figure indicates that 6% of that district is sane and educated. If you know anything about the history of rural education in the South, that is not surprising.

If today I were to play, it would be Royals +120. Most folks will take Dunning over Lyles any day, but that is not huge difference. THats funny Key,, I have to show my old man that, he moved from Portland a few years ago to there (Summerville, GA) he just turned 80, and was able to get 20 acres and half a river for the cost of his place in Oregon. I haven't seen any Nazis there, but there are plenty of rednecks, but not a whole lot more than when we lived in Nebraska and KC as kids. THats funny Key,, I have to show my old man that, he moved from Portland a few years ago to there (Summerville, GA) he just turned 80, and was able to get 20 acres and half a river for the cost of his place in Oregon.
