Luck would be to have won the game on Friday. Winning the 2 other games was not luck. You said that the Sox have a 2 game lead with 6 games left. And they faced the A's and Twins, who are much more tougher then the Rays and Orioles. The Yankees can sweep both series, and the Sox can lose 2 games and the Yankees win the division. But, as long as they don't face the Angels, I could really care less what they win. And then you say that the Yanks aren't technically in yet? Although that is true, do you really think that the Yankees will lose all their remaining games and the Tigers will win all of their remaining games. That wont happen. 1 more win for the Yanks and 1 more loss for the Tigers is all they need, and that loss can come tonight. I understand your story with you being a Sox fan and all, but when it all comes down to it, we saw last year and in the Second Half of this season that the Yankees don't mind playing in Fenway. So give us the Wild Card, we'd be glad to take it because the Indians look like their on the pace of winning the best record in baseball, or second best behind the Sox, but when your 6-0 against a team in the regular season, it isn't to much of a concern. ![]()

watching our team rest key players (Manny, Youkilis, Okajima) and line up their rotation for the playoffs. ![]()

To be technical...Manny is resting himself with his injury. And if the Sox really weren't trying, then they would let Okajima pitch, because putting him in there is worse then keeping him out. Next season then should have him in the minors and bring him up for just the 2nd half. ![]()

huh? Why would the yanks rather play Angels than Indians? Yanks owned the Indians this year, and we all know the yanks cant win at anaheim. So who in the right mind would want to play the angels.

Agreed. The Yanks can beat up on Carmona, and Sabathia of course will be a challenge. But if the Indians, lets say win the best record in baseball, or get the chance have the extra days off, you'll see Pettitte face off against Sabathia both times, and there is NO WAY IN HELL, that Pettitte will lose twice in a 5 game series. And the Indians don't even have a 3rd pitcher, where the Yankees of course have the Rocket who can go for them, or even Mussina or have been there before. As for the Indians, they would have Lackey, Escobar, Weaver, Lackey, Escobar. While the Indians would have Sabathia, Carmona, Byrd/Westbrook?, Sabathia, Carmona. And that 1 spot can make all the difference. Although, who would want to have a series with extra days rest when you know that you will be facing a stronger Joba Chamberlain each time out? All of these things need to be looked at closely. ![]()

huh? okajima has a tired arm. he hasn't pitched since the 14th. i don't understand your comment. i never said they weren't trying either. i was just pointing out that they have been aligning their rotation for about 10 days now getting ready for the playoffs.

Yea...I tryed to make a point and ended up realizing I had no idea what I was saying.
But it looks like Japanese pitchers havn't faired well in the Bigs with the longer schedule. But I'm turning into a Red Sox fan right about now. Trust me, I want to see a classic Yankees/Red Sox ALCS, and if the Yankees don't take the division, it looks like the Sox will start off with the Angels. And that is all gravy for me. But it the Yankees win tonight, ehich they honestly should with the Rays bullpen, then they will be doing the same thing in working out their starting rotation, and bullpen. ![]()
