maybe because taking 2 of 3 against the yankees on the road will quickly get rid of a lot of the stink that surrounds your team. And then backing it up with 2 of 3 over another Al east contender will wipe away even more stink. Plus the Sox have an ordinary road record, which is no secret.

Actually, the way I took that series was like this. The Yanks offense was embarrassing against Martis and Stammen, but Lannan just shut them down. He has great stuff, and if you lose a game, this will be the one.

No problem, but given it's a game 1 you're talking about that information will be available at best probably 30 mins before the game. So keep your eyes peeled.

if the dodgers and red sox played in the WS right now, red sox would be favored.  forget the records  - - boston is the best team right now and i have nothing against the red sox or dodgers.

I was in on that series, too!  The last game of the series was a sweet 1-0 shutout in the afternoon.

    Bator good stuff I see how Was is the best way to lean with Lannan. IMO  the Sox will feast on the Was bullpen that has been playing way over their heads. If Was takes the lead, like they should Bos will chip away and come out on top in the late innings. I see lots of good analysis, only the BULLPENS will decide the game. Was F5 and Bos ML  BOL!!

Surprise, surprise, the line we all assumed would rise today has instead fallen by about 10 cents.  So who still loves the overconfident Red Sox?
 
By the way, there was a long article published today in The Boston Globe detailing the sorry state of the entire Nationals franchsie.  Anyone who read that would be on Boston -120 tonight for sure.

I totally agree that this has trap written all over it. Only problem is there have been at least 5 other games involving these Nats, similar to this and had trap written all over it. And I'm 0-5 in all those games.

Tim Tschida is the Ump - somewhat low SO/BB ratio of 1.65 : 1 and strike call percentage of 61.83%, which isn't the best of news for Lannan on the potential walk front. If he's going to serve up a good start/last into the deep innings, he's going to have to have excellent control.

Good Luck Bate. I have a feeling if I lay off, Nats are a sure winner.If I play it, Nats will be winning by 2 runs and then blow it in the 8th or 9th. I dont care how good Lannan pitches, he will have to go 8 minium for Nats to win. This bullpen absolutely BLOWS!

What is the thoughts now? Just a case of taking a chance with the best team against the worst team not having to pay much to take them. As someone stated earlier in this post the main difference is bullpen and once again it was exposed. Anytime you can go against the Nats at -130 or less I guarantee if your on the opposition everytime at this price you would win money. I cashed with the Sox tonight and like I said I will never and I mean never ever put my money on a Washington Nationals team especially against the best team in baseball.
