Wheeler is in a good spot against a Seattle lineup that can't stop swinging and missing. He’s running a 1.01 WHIP with near a 30% K-rate, and the Mariners are bottom-five in wOBA against upper-90s heat and sweepers—which is basically Wheeler’s entire pitch mix. Seattle’s offense is totally lost right now with a sub-.290 xwOBA over the last 10, plus their bullpen is completely gassed after giving up 19 runs yesterday. Gilbert is solid, but the Phillies work counts, hit the ball hard, and have a massive edge once this hits the middle innings. Getting Wheeler at near pick'em against a reeling team. 

after getting shellacked by the brewers, look how they responded the next day. similar situation with how they lost to cubs last night. phillies barely won with their 2out miracle yesterday, line smells funny as hell. I'll take mariners

Teams coming off 15+ run blowout losses actually win their next game only about 42% of the time, and Seattle’s bullpen is pretty gassed after throwing 140+ pitches over the weekend. 

But anything can happen in one game. I like the angle of what would happen if this game is played 100,000 times.
