Just looked at Texroid's stats last 10 games 14 hits,impressive.Those 14 hits just brought his Batting avg to 207

Tex career numbers, .281 avg., .377 obp, .538 slg. 244 HR

Utley career numbers, .296 avg., .381 obp, .525 slg, 169 HR (in 300 or so less AB)

And there are a lot less top 2nd basemen around than top 1st basemen.

Anyway, there's not much point arguing, they're both very, very good players.

I'm in no way doubting Utley's ability. I would just like to know why jsab considers Tex to be overrated.

Well well well...

The month of May just passed so let's review how Lard Turd-xeira did.

He batted .280(33 hits out of 118 at bats), had 5 doubles, 6 home runs and 25 RBIs.

That was a major improvement compared to April but let's not kid ourselves. That was totally pathetic for his standards and his fat contract.

Last May, he batted .330(38 hits out of 115 at bats), had 9 doubles, 13 home runs and 34 RBIs.

His April and May game logs this season completely pales in comparison to 2009.

I am afraid to say that this guy has reached his peak last season. He is only going to go downhill. I still can't believe he's paid 180 million over 8 years! He's the JaMarcus Russell of baseball! What a complete bust! At least Russell's contract was just 68 million over 6 years.

Mark went 0 for 5 today with 4 LOBs and 1 DP. Guy's a complete joke. Mark do yourself a favor and please join Ken Griffey Junior in retirement before you further embarrass yourself. You can't even get a single hit against the worst team in the Majors and their equally horrible pitchers.

The league should create a new award in honor of Mark Teixeira. Lets call it the Mark Teixeira award. Hey, we have the Cy Young award for the best pitcher. We should also have an award for the worst batter too. Anyone knows Bud Selig's email? I want to pitch this idea to him.

- This is my favorite. He ended up striking out on a 3-0 count! I can't stop rolling on the ground laughing.

He struck out 5 times in a row, all with a swing and a miss! Is that horrible or is that horrible? Must have been a Major League record! Why he was allowed to continue batting and not replaced with a pinch hitter is a mystery. But it was a blessing in disguise as he provided us with a nice highlight reel(5 'Swing and a Miss' )

The clip of him whiffing out 5 consecutive times should definitely be in his future DVD entitled 'The fall of Mark Teixeira'

Teixeira laid another egg today! Oh and can you believe he was intentionally walked by Frasor? WTF is wrong with Toronto? Even a blind person would have known that the guy was ice cold!

His June stats so far:

3 for 20(a pathetic .150%), 0 home runs, 0 RBIs, 8 strikeouts.

I see both sides here. Tex has been great in the past and a VERY slow starter. But i think its time to be a little concerned after 2 months of being absolutly terrible. I mean yesterday with the 5 K's its not like he was just missing but man he was swinging over pitches by about a foot and a half. Not something you see very often from great hitters no less 5 times in one game. Last year he had the excuse of having no a-rod for the slow start and now there is no excuse. By now you should be helping your team and there is no more reason for these 2 month slow starts. He is a great hitter. Get your head out of your ass and help your team. They are 2 games back basically without your help after 2 months. Wait until he starts raking. Yanks will be even more unstoppable then they already are
