Yes, errors are overrated.  If a player gets to a ball that another couldnt get to and is charged an error, but the other player doesn't, it is the same result except player A is is a better fielder with an error.  Go read some Bill James or Baseball Prospectus Annual

Haha yeah you win.  The Reds are the greatest team in baseball.  Cueto, Arroyo and Volquez will gem every night.  Hamels, Oswalt and Halladay are not that good of a 1,2,3 punch.  The Phillies 19-5 streak in September after finally getting healthy was just a fluke.  Their last two runs to the World Series involved nothing but luck.  Adding Oswalt, Polanco and getting Hamels back to 08 form means nothing to this years team because Paul Janish will gobble everything up at short, Stubbs will chase everything down in the outfield and Ryan Hannigan will drive in 3 a game LMAO.  Sit back and watch a real team in October.  Reds will be able to make a WS run in a few years.

Man u are dumb, im not saying there the best and the phillies arnt good, ive said that the phillies are very good and will most likely be in the world series.  Im saying give the Reds some credit and dont discount what they have done all season, and that you better expect a better series than u think ur gonna get.  Didnt think it was that hard to comprehend, and I know Votto wont win, but thats just the bias of he hasnt won one yet, everyone knows Gonzo will win it.

Janish isnt going to start, hanigan wont start, stubbs will chase down alot of balls and if hanigan is driving in 3 runs a game, u might as well just all go home cause were winning if that happens

What the fuck do you want to know?

They are pretty balanced from both sides of the plate.  Hit for power and average as good as anybody.  Are solid defensively, but there are holes.  Votto is a top 3 pure hitter in baseball and absolutely mashes righties.  They play in a bandbox similar to the Phillies.  Their catchers have been pretty productive offensively this year.  Mccann is the gold standard offensively in the NL and Hanigan/Hernandez numbers are comparable.  Stubbs usually leads off for them and is a solid fielder.  He can run, but the guy can't hit worth a lick.  When your OBP is around .300, I don't care how fast you are.  Pathetic for the leadoff spot.   Phillips is as solid as they come especially in the field.  Makes spectacular plays.  Just a pro hitter.  Doesn't matter if he is facing righties or lefties or at home or away.  Creep power too as he can put a ride into one.  Rolen at third is as solid as they come in the field.  One of the best ever there.  a good veteran presence to have.  Will be motivated to beat his old team and take it to fans that turned on him in a relationship that went sour quick.  Another pro hitter with a great approach each AB.  Jay Bruce one of the most underrated hitters in baseball.  Period.  Power and average from both sides of the plate.  Orlando Cabrera good veteran presence, but the dude is done.  And will be worthless in the first two as he can't hit a righty to save his life.  Their bullpen has been strong.  Aroldis, the Cuban refugee, throwing gas, but the kid is so fucking young.  Rhodes has rejuvenated his career this year.  Cordero been solid all year, but struggled as of late (September numbers brutal).  Lidge been liiights out.  Rhodes and Cordero have poor, poor numbers against the Phils this year.  So as you can see obviously a great lineup, but the Phils lineup slightly better.  This series comes down to pitching and the starting pitching disparity is ginormous.  You can't compare these starters.  Not even the most biased Reds fan in the world.  Good pitching beats good hitting.  Experience is all in the Phils court as well.  4th straight year here.  Home field is with the Phils.  Running game and speed favors the Phils.  Best stealing team in the majors by sooooo much.  Did I forget about their starters?  Arroyo, good second half pitcher historically, and had another good second half this year. Solid soft throwing veteran pitcher, but gets rocked in the playoffs and killed by the Phils.  Cueto and Volquez two solid hard throwing righties who are young.  Will be good for years to come.  Rotation is simply too young, but a lot of promise when you add in Leake, Wood and Bailey who was the most hyped at one point and has looked good lately.  Good rotation now with potential for future greatness, but young.

The Reds are a live dog simply because no one is giving them a chance, they've already been beaten in most people's minds. The pressure is 110% on the Phillies, Reds have nothing to lose. If the Phils lose Game 1 they will be in big trouble and a choke could result.

The same things being said about the Phils pitching were said about the Cardinals last year and down they went 1-2-3 after the Dodgers had been written off before the series.

andarmac makes a solid point on the pressure in this series being squarely on the shoulders of the Phillies.  Can't argue there.  But, if they come out and jump on Volquez early, the Reds could start to doubt quickly with all that is being said.

Nothing beats a couple of 20 somethings in a pissing match.

Wow.. why is there all this hostility toward us Philllies fans? most people here who say the Reds will win the series are basing it off of their dislike for the city of Philadelphia, which wont help you win money. I thought we all just wanted facts and to look at the ends and outs of the match-ups of series, not the city's. Fact is during the regular season (I know playoffs are a little different, but we need something to measure up against) the Phillies won the series 5-2, including a 4 game sweep by Philly. Right now the Phillies are a better team, which doesnt mean it's an automatic series win but to try and hype up the Reds to validate choosing them in this series isn't smart. You have a better chance of looking at other lcs games.

Reds sweep! Okay probably not. As a Reds fan, i just had to say it.  Also, as a Red's fan, I am proud of them even if they get swept. Philly is strong. The Reds are another example of how small budget teams can win sometimes. Next year is more likely to be a year they could make a run.  But who knows? 

This is exciting and I am ready to jump into this great debate. However I love listening to Stuckey my boy knows his shit.
