why havent you yankee lovers out there hitting the series bet yet? its been sitting at -180 since it came out! come on! get to it people! go out and bet the yankees to win the series NOW!!!
hey bator make your series bet already so the damm line will move.
Well, what's my hurry? So far the line has fallen since Sunday night thanks to bettors getting suckered into taking the Angels +180, +175, etc., so why wouldn't I wait until Friday to make my move? Actually, I got a little piece of the Yankees at -160 today but just a small piece.

Please cite the plays where you saw me lose when betting on the Yankees. The last time I lost when betting on them was on September 18th, the night Mariano Rivera blew the save in the bottom of the 9th in Seattle. In what other games did you see lose when betting on the Yankees?

the only one that pops in my mind is when you said during the early/middle of the season that it doesnt matter if you bet for or against they have burned your money. now i dont know if you were saying that just to say it or was just saying it during that time when the yankees was burning everybodys money in the beginning of the season.
now there is no way in hell im i going to pin point where these threads are, hell i dont even remember whose thread it was.
now if what ive said offended you that you've have a losing record with the yanks then i apologize, but from what ive personally remember throughout the season it seems to be the case from what ive read. probably not reading the ones where you did win with them.
if this helps i do remember you betting on the nats against the yanks and they took 2 out of 3 or was it a sweep @ NY? and how you were going to buy a nats jersey but couldnt decide which one.
now with me saying you should bet the NY series was using you as a preference to be able to move lines in my favor, a figure of speech. but of course its the smart thing to wait for a better line, unless you are the avg joe... and you sir are def. not

Oh, the September 15th game, when Halladay finally won as a road favorite to snap a team losing streak. Also, there was August 25th, the night the Yankees rallied from 5 runs down in the bottom of the 9th to cut the Texas lead to 10-9 when Joe Girardi ruined everything by ordering Nick Swisher to try and lay down a bunt with disastrous results.

I definetely lost money betting against the Yankees in 2009. No one needs to look that up!

Good thing you remember because I couldn't find where you posted it. It was probably one of those posts u made on the 15th that stayed up until the 22nd or some shit like that. And no need to bring up the Rangers game. That was awful. Swisher should learn how to bunt though.

Let's talk about the NLCS. Who you picking , Bator? & U Sparky? & U PIi Pai Player?
Dodgers. I think they match up well against the Phillies. After Lee, who are you really scared of? Wolf can go head to head with Hamels and can outpitch him. Kershaw can go head to head with Lee. Big pitcher's duel. Kuroda may be back for the NLCS and I actually think I have faith in Billingsley or Padilla.

I would keep an eye on the weather -- if it rains, Sabathia will pitch only two games in this series. In addition, I wouldn't be so quick to make calls on a series until the rotations are announced. Of course, you can comment on leans, but pitching home/away can turn certain pitchers into pumpkins, which should change your wager.
I am worried about the Yankee's 4th starter if Sabathia can't go three times. LAA has a very strong rotation, and -180 is way to high. However, I wouldn't fault anyone in taking them.

i honestly think phillies can steal game one here. its just a question if kershaw can keep his walks to a min. however im betting that he keeps his walks to 3or less and dodgers have a great chance to win, yes i know its hamels on the mound and his numbers are great against them but look at how they did against carpenter and wainwright.

You mean if Game 1 gets postponed. Well then who knows how it sets up. Would they take a day off on when Game 3 should be played, then play that when it should be Game 4, take off Game 5, then play a day after. So many things can happen as they have a day off between Games 4 and 5 when they really don't need it. And I'm sure they won't play 3 straight games to start the series when you would play Saturday and Sunday in New York than play Monday at 1:00 local time in LA. It just won't work. And the rotation will be set up like this.
Sabathia v Lackey
Burnett v Saunders
Pettitte v Weaver
Sabathia v Kazmir
Burnett v Lackey
Pettitte v Saunders
Sabathia v Weaver
However...rain outs and last second decisions may change things(say so you bring back Kazmir Game 7 with the experience instead of Weaver who isn't as good on the road?). Most likely the rotation setup before you have to get the series bet in wont be how it turns out in the long run.
The way I think this is going is if 1 of the first 2 games gets postponed, then you'll have the makeup game on Sunday. In which case, Monday's game would be cancelled and moved to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday(when there is no game scheduled) and Thursday's game would be played as scheduled. So say Game 2 gets cancelled, Sabathia would be going on 5 days rest and then again on 4 days left. So that would be the ideal situation for him. If his game gets postponed, he'd be going on 3 days rest for both of his next 2 starts. That would be the worst situation for him. If all games go as planned, he'll go on 3 days rest then 4 days rest. So thats the breakdown if it makes any sense.

Oh...I didn't know Kershaw was facing Hamels. I say that game easily goes to the Dodgers and Game 2 might as well. I really like Wolf and think he can matchup with Lee. I also think Manny will give Lee one hell of a time(it's time to break out of his shell). And Wolf would certainly want to bounce back and perform a lot better than his last start. I say they take Games 1 and 2 as a team should do with homefield advantage.

"Right now, ALCS Game 3 in Anaheim is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern time on Monday. But if the teams play Sunday night, it would be doubtful that they also would be asked to fly cross-country and play Monday afternoon. So that game could be re-scheduled to Monday night, but the more likely probability is that Monday would become an off-day.
In that scenario, Games 3, 4 and 5 would be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. At present, there is an off-day on Wednesday. That off-day – without any postponements – was going to enable the Yankees to start Sabathia in Game 1, on short rest in Game 4 and – if it were necessary – on normal rest for Game 7. "
Just like I said. Problem is, I didn't put Burnett into effect. Kinda a big thing I left out. But even if they must use Gaudin, they only need him to go 5 innings. Sure...he's no ace, but he isn't awful. He had good outings and he had bad outings but if they get him threw 5 innings, then they pass it to Aceves, Joba, Hughes and Mo. So your not asking for much. And the Yankees' bats can keep him in the game. We'll all have to see how things turn out.

Bator, I'm shocked that you have the audacity to enter this thread and ruin this roundtable of Yankee scholars...
King Sparky, Sir Bailey, and Dr Tone are obviously the most knowledgeable NYY handicappers in the history of covers, and you come in with your senseless trends, made-up lines, and useless motivation speeches, and you expect us to believe any of it? How dare you?
