I can't say Santana/Liriano anymore....damn. Would be the clear cut 1-2 imo, if they were together still.

Webb/Haren are pretty nasty but if Harden is healthy him and Zambrano make a hell of a 1-2 punch.

Here is hoping it turns out to be Santana/Pelfrey

As the thread was originally started was what is the best 1-2 punch? Beckett/Lester is won hell of a 1-2 punch. We all know what Beckett has done and you say Lester is not the second best pitcher in the league? I am not sure either who the second best pitcher in the league is however, as far as the second part of that 1-2 punch, Lester's career numbers are 59 starts, 27-8 record, 3.81 era, 2.25 era in the playoffs, and opponents batting average of .265. Also won the clinching game in the World Series in 2007. I would say that qualifies as a SOLID 1-2 punch.
