I have Dodgers (Muncy OUT!!!) for a full run edge over Rockies

I was seriously considering NYY, Giants, Cleveland, Padres, and Blew-it Jays

It's true that TWINKIES pen has struggled this year, though not too bad the past 3 games.....however the 3 worst overall (home/away combined) for the season so far appear to be

Angels

Cinci

St.Louis

 

*Note: both Colorado and Sacramento A's have very poor numbers as well but at least part of those would be due to their home venues, not necessarily bad relief pitching there.

PADRES played a soft sched to begin the season and went 17 - 8

Since then - vs tougher opps - they are  14 - 14

May 18 the Amazing Mets scored 11 runs in extra innings

after only scoring 5  thru 9 innings  surprised

At HOME, the Amazing Mets have scored 104 runs across 25 home games for a mean avg of 4.16 rpg

But . . .

they were FORTUNATE to gain 9 runs from extra-innings and

were lucky to gain 6 runs that were UNearned. (2 overlaps)

So if we remove those 13 FORTUNATE extra runs, then instead of a mean of 4.16 rpg (when all that luck is included) their number drops a half-run to 3.64 rpg (when all their luck is hypothetically dismissed) to get what I believe to be a more accurate depiction of their YTD offensive numbers (notwithstanding injuries to key batters)

Will Toronto's best batter be held out of the lineup again today... Hard to say. Maybe, but too early to say definitively until the lineup card is confirmed.

Make no mistake, this dude and others I will identify in the future are GOOD starters - some of them exceptional! HOWEVER, probability says "consecutive streaks won't last long" especially AFTER 7 straight w/o a "bad outing"....All GOOD pitchers will, from time to time, have an "off" day and get roughed up - sometimes mauled - before they resume their stellar pitching performances again.  CAN NOT be avoided. an_shake Best to avoid!

 

an_lightCAVEAT: even if the starter has a "bad outing" doesn't mean his team will lose! It just seriously weakens their chances! But his team's bats could come thru with a lot of runs to save the day.....maybe! You decide.
