How did Diaz get exposed????
Condit fought smart and ran around in circles and played keep away for five rounds, understand this..Diaz chooses to stand and bang, his ego is what beat him..he could have taken condit down at any point of that fight,he chose to stand and fight, condit was lucky that Diaz was late on the last takedown because If Diaz would have took his back any earlier condit would have went to sleep,Diaz clearly lost, but the better fighter didn't win...

carlos is a gentleman and deserves to be a champ .
diaz is dirtbag and a filthy scumbag of epic proportions.....white will probably fire him after tonight for not showing for the press conf...anyway...so he won't have to retire officially..
maybe GSP and him could fight in a parking lot somewhere at sometime...

I still thought Nick won the fight. I can see the decision going to Condit based on little leg kick points but that shit is gay. I mean stick and move is ok, but literally turning around and sprinting away is pretty box.
This fight reminds me of the Rampage/Forrest fight. Heavy action on Rampage, he lands the more significant shots and Forrest gets the BS decision. Enough to make him go crazy.
That safe fighting BS (Greg Jackson) is ruining MMA. If I want to see points sparring Ill go to a Tae Kwon Doe tournament. If I want to see men dry humping the whole fight I'll go to a wrestling tourny. I watch UFC to see FIGHTS. People actually trying to finsish each other, is that asking too much now? I understand the point of doing enough to win but in the end its a fight and fans are paying to see it.
Anyways this decisision wasn't a total robbery like Shogun/Machida 1 but enough to make me want to vent a little.

Are you serious? He lost a close fight and now he's overrated? We've always known Diaz weakness was wrestling but today was the first time in a while that he acutally just lost. Maybe Condit is just that good? I mean he seems to be improving every fight.
I think Diaz just needs to learn to cut off the ring better and he can't rely on throwing people off their game plans by talking shit. Obviously that didn't get Condit off the plan.

i had condit in this fight and he simply fought the most error-free fight and diaz did not get aggresive enough until it was too late(fourth round attempted take down).
they fight ten times diaz wins 6.
and if they rematch im on diaz.

diaz is average? wtf?

I am dead serious.......look at the names of who he has beaten. He is an above average fighter but certainly nothing close to what he was being hyped as coming off his win streak. You look at the list below of W's and L's and tell me what you think.
W's - BJ Penn / Paul Daley / Evangalista Santos / KJ Noons / Hayato Sakuri / Marius Zarmoskis / Scott Smith / Frank Shamrock / Thomas Denny / Mushin Cobbrey / Katsuya Inoue / Mike Aina / Gleison Tibau / Josh Neer / Ray Steinbeiss / Koji Oishi / Drew Fickett / Robbie Lawler / Jeremy Jackson (twice) Joe Hurley / Harris Sarmiento / Adam Lynn / Blaine Tyler / Chris Lytle / Mike Wick
Compared to the Losses
L's Carlos Condit / KJ Noons / Sean Sherk / Joe Riggs / Diego Sanchez / Karo Parisyan / Kuniyoshi Hironaka / Jeremey Jackson
To me there is a significant difference in the quality of fighters Diaz has beaten and whom he has gotten beaten by. He has padded his record very nicely bouncing In and Out of the UFC and fighting people he is clearly superior then. Compare his W's to the truely TOP TIER fighters in the UFC and there is a noticeable difference in quality of oppenents they have defeated.

I do agree that his resume was a bit overrated coming into the fight and that's part of the reason I took Condit....but I think Diaz is a top level talent. He should and will always be a contender at the least

If
you want to watch 2 goons standing toe to toe trying to knock each
other's heads off, go back and watch the old toughman shows. This is
professional fighting. It's about gameplans, technique, intelligence and
trying to force the other guy to fight your fight, not get sucked into
his gameplan. Condit was masterful last night. He clearly has the better
skillset and he's obviously a ,ot smarter than Diaz who never adjusted
to try to counter what Condit was doing by varying his approach. He just
kept plodding forward, used no lateral movement, got hit repeatedly
with leg kicks, stiff jabs to the face, spinning backfists, kicks to the
body and head. For someone who supposedly running away the whole fight,
he sure did screw Diaz's face up pretty good.
Instead of criticizing Condit for executing his gameplan and flat out
beating Diaz, maybe you should throw some criticism towards Diaz for
being a one dimensional fighter who was clearly outclassed.

I agree, i think Diaz won rounds 1 & 2 for sure and did enough to take the 5th, and that is debatable. Diaz is a punk but he is a good fighter. I would not want to be his next opponent. I would take Nick Diaz in the rematch in a heartbeat.
Condit is a skilled fighter dont get me wrong, and I can live with him getting the W, but he wont last long at the top. If there is no rematch, i will pass from watching GSP/Condit because it will be Carlos running around while GSP tries to hump him.
Dana loves drama, so there will be a rematch most likely because GSP cannot fight until November.

i was on Diaz. Not a chance in the world he beat condit. I never saw the strike stats, but I'm sure that alone told the story. Yes Condit ran away, but he hit Diaz.. then ran. over and over and over. Diaz fought a brutal fight and wasn't near as aggressive as he has been in the past, and should have been.
Some people talk about one dimnesional fighters, and that is exactly how Diaz was forced to fight. Zero ground game if you can't get a TD. Diaz has very limited kicking ability. all he could do was box, and he was outstruck badly

Everyone understands it is more than just strikes landed right? I mean I am fine with decision, although I scored it for Diaz I knew it could go either way. But to say because he landed more strikes, he wins is silly.
Here is the criteria straight from the UFC website:
Judges shall evaluate mixed martial arts techniques, such as effective striking, effective grappling, control of the ring/fighting area, effective aggressiveness and defense.
Evaluations shall be made in the order in which the techniques appear in (c) above, giving the most weight in scoring to effective striking, effective grappling, control of the fighting area and effective aggressiveness and defense.

of course I know that, but this fight was 99% striking, with the exception of the partial takedown/fall at the end of the 5th, where Diaz took Condit's back, but truely never had him in trouble.
agreed, it could have gone either way and it wouldn't have been the worst decision ever
and yes, I know the damage to the face doesn't tell the whole story, but Diaz's face was a MESS after the fight, and Condit had one cut under his eye.

No one arguing that Diaz won is arguing for something not in the criteria for scoring.
They are arguing landing 42 more strikes doesn't make up for 25 minutes of Octagon control, and grappling control in the 5th.
