the funniest part of this etrade shit is citi basically torching them ,saying they feel its about a18-20% chance that etrade files bankruptcy,,etrade was like wtf,,classic stuff

I read that..and I read that ET feels ok with 1B in portfolio losses..it would be interesting to see what they have in TOTAL for these putrid mortgages..

Stock has bounced from 3.55 when I started watching it earlier today..thats a big move actually.

They are SMOKING CCJ and CNQ and RIO..

Market averages not at all showing the damage to the higher beta stocks.

I should have known the top was in when these idiots started asking if GOOG was going to 1k first or BIDU to 500..that kind of talk would be market top garbage.

Holy damn, even FSLR is "cracking".......... into the mid 170s.
 
Funny I say "cracking" cause the symbol was like 150 a week ago!!!!!!!!
 
It's just the power of the short covering rally......something like FSLR can drop 30 points and then rise 40 in an hour......no joke.
 
Yeah, WSC, hold on to DRYS for the long haul.......you got capitulation there today.  Hang in there, and add more when the big money comes in.
 
The sell-off in the high betas has been totally orchestrated by the manipulators, who also totally orchestrated the short covering rally.  The manipulators wanted these names lower, and they always get what they want.  When and what they do next.....who knows?  I just hope I can sneak in the back door to their party and then get the hell out before they find me.
 
The big money players who totally manipulate ticker symbol prices.

Sheet, mon, WSC.....just another day in this hideous game called gambling.
 
You could make 100 stacks tomorrow......it could happen.
 
So are we going to "test" the 800 level in SP 500 when this vicious bear market has run its course about 3-5 years from now, and will we pass this "test?"  Or are we headed to zero point zero on the SP 500 as oil approaches 400 dollars a barrel, and a gallon of unleaded costs 12 bucks, and inflation is 25% and unemployment is 33%.  Guess we got a recipe for a 1930s depression.  And then China cashes in all their bonds, and Bernanke has a heart attack during a sell-off, and we're all tuning in to CNBC to know what we should do next.......
 
And then the world just keeps on going.....doesn't mercifully end.
 
The great unknown.
 
And oh by the way, "markets hate uncertainty."

NAZ composite is down around 9% in the last 4 trading sessions.

Pretty steep fall.  Almost 2 months worth of gains.  Wow.

wallstreet: I like your DRYS buy today and I may try and get in tomorrow. When you look at the dry bulk sector it still looks like the best one out there and it's 50% cheaper than it was 2 wks ago. At a forward PE of 5 this should be a bottom here and this bit of news today contradicts the haircut it got today:
 
But despite some investors decision to jump ship, analysts continued to underscore the long-term potential of drybulk shipping stocks well into 2008.

Meanwhile, the Baltic Dry Indexch covers drybulk shipping rates and is managed by the Baltic Exchange in London, rose 128 points Monday to 10,995 -- less than 40 points away from an all-time high set on Oct. 29. The index measures rates on 40 shipping routes on a time charter and voyage basis.

 
Give me your opinion on FRO. In my humble opinion, the fat dividend seems to negate the downside risk and if the oil tanker sector ever takes off like the dry bulk sector has taken off this past yr then watch out.

Re:FRO I would find out if that dividend history is intact..or if they had a one time large dividend and wont repeat it.

I tend to think the 6 bucks wont be repeated next year, but you could try and track a dividend history and see what they regularly distribute.

I like DRYS on this big drop..longer term I like my odds here..and with a 3 for 1 that gives me 500 shares..I could be wrong for another 10-20 bucks..who the hell knows.

Etrade rocking today..3.55 looks good now, a sweet 30% higher today.

Didnt buy any, but happy with DRYS so far today.

 stepped in and bought some etrade today,,thinkin about dumping it,make a buck or so in the stock today,,,dont want to hold it through the close,,,my luck it will run the next couple of days,,,fuck it ill let it run till about 3;00 and then dump it and take a profit

The only way she goes back to those levels yesterday is if the BK rumors are true.

You could be right that it might trade below 4 again, and gains should be taken so if the gut tells you to sell you gotta sell.  

GVK, what happened lately? You used to post much more often..thanks for the kind words. I needed a good trade, got destroyed over the last two sessions..
