Making Money??? Only in my mutual funds and old faithful JCI. Everything Else SUCKS for me...IGT pissing me off on no news...i've dollar costed down and looking to pick up some more. This is kind of like Martingdale at this point. WAY to overly weighted in one stock now...oh well, I really beleive in the company so I will go down fighting.
I'm suprised FSLR didn't move more today..I think I might dump my idmi / ency soon. Sold my long ebay calls to quick but not complaining.
Glad to some are making money and even printing it !

I am sticking with IDMI..I dont blame you with ENCY, but I bet you will look back and regret it in a year..stock should move up in anticipation of the next approval date (next year I imagine).
I think longer term IGT is a great stock, I like it quite a bit..but you did get in high there as I remember talking about it with you.
Gotta do what is best for you mentally though.

The prining it thing was just a joke....just a good day....i had a stock up 17%...had Ichiro All-Star MVP at 12-1.....and a 16.20 horse at Belmont
Things are back to normal today....but I was encouraged to buy a bunch of LPTN...and the source has been good to me (BIVN bought at 3.90....sold it at 5.65 GNLB bought it at 1.42....sold some, still holding some at around 2.15) LPTN is suppose to be the golden goose...we'll see

Congrats on your profitable FSLR July 110 calls. Well in.
BTW, smart move to close them out. Each down tick this coming week will geometrically erode the value of any out of the money call.
I do believe that this stock will move higher in the future due to the high short interest. The shorts will be right in the long run (as they usually are), but unless there is an earnings debacle, a pathetic secondary (this scares me more than anything), or a HUGE terrorist hit to the globe, this one does a hell of a lot of squeezing before it ultimately gets killed.
Yes, for sure, FSLR is a piece of shit a long time from now, but you know as well as I that the short sellers' joy usally only comes after the horrific pain is handled first. It's the way the gambling/stock market gods operate........they don't give the stock gambler one goddamn thing for free......NEVER, EVER.
And the long players will have to deal with the intense negativity and fearsome down-turns for the ride up the ladder.
Ain't easy to deal with this thing, either way. BTW, I haven't looked at Barron's online for this week. I pretty much grew sick of that publication about 10 years ago when they became as predictable as the annual magazines for NFL that pick last year's playoff teams for the upcoming season.
Only "pending" plays for the moment:
Long GTLS
Long FSLR
Cheers

I closed them out too quickly, missed another 3k in potential gain which is unacceptable..but somtimes when you get a gain it is important to take it, so I cannot be too upset.
I thought I saw stuff from Barrons shown on yahoo boards today, but still reading through it.
We agree that FSLR technology is second rate but the cheapest and they get a ton of subsidies from european governments so while they are buying the stock will go forward.
I am shocked at how many companies are starting to get into the thin film production arena..stocks like AMAT and subsidiary of Honda and Sony etc..
What could really be the huge winner and I am talking a retirement size winner, is to find that nano company who will deliver the goods solar wise. I really think the potential with nano technology is tremendous. The problem is that most nano companies will not deliver..so finding that one company who has the managment and the cash and the ability to deliver, they will turn from a sub 100M market cap to a 5B market cap in a longer horizon...

Yeah, WSC, finding that 1 out of 300 Nano company will make you retirement rich, for sure. I can only dream of that "what if" stuff, and then put it to rest before I think about trying.
When going for the home runs, I'll miss 299 times out of 300.
When going for basic singles with common stock, I can do fine. It's the way my relationship with the gambling gods works.
Yeah, I'm sure Barron's came at FSLR this week-end, cause it sold off hard at yesterday's close. The day no one is negative anymore, and everyone and his dog are at the party will be the day to short the living hell out of that one. Until then, it's going to be a shot seller's worst nightmare.
Yeah, "nano solar" will be continue to be in play for a while.
Good stuff.

I think the one in 300 is if someone did ZERO homework. If you were to find the nano's who are actively in the sector, spend considerable time researching the company, managment, cash flow and capital usage, products etc you COULD narrow that list considerably.
I imagine that many larger firms are doing exactly that..in fact I bet many send soldiers to the company to check them out.
If we looked hard enough and smart enough I bet we could knock that number down to 1 in 5..and THAT is worth the risk to me.
I was also semi intriuged at that car company I posted a while back, the electric car OTCBB stock..they have a ton of interesting concept cars, but mass producing them is another story, but if you believed they COULD mass produce then you have a HUGE winner on your hands..an indy car company making electric cars..I need to find that symbol again. After looking the first time I was initially intriuged at how far they are along, but somthing didnt ring right and I moved on..if I have time this weekend I will re-look at old messages to see.
I also posted about a nano solar stock who just got a patent for transparent solar cells..meaning you can see THROUGH the window, so people could put these cells on regular open windows and generate solar power that way...very very intriuging..

By the way, it was...I think...wallstreet who mentioned a company called Sequenom SQNM awhile back for a bunch of insider buying. Traded sideways for a bit after that but now perking up quite a bit. Really think this company is close to being a huge grower. Will soon be distributing a home brew prenatal genetic test, first of its kind. Non-invasive, cheaper and simpler. This could become the gold standard in a huge and stable market.
All that with a reasonable 200M market cap, huge insider buying and positive analyst comments. Trading at $5.15. About 15% off its 52-week high, over 300% up from the bottom, but all time high of like $500 during the 2000 bubble.
I think this stock can double to $10 by the end of the year and be a 5-bagger in 3 years if their plan is successful.
Just my sense after watching this stock's action. Not too much hype in this stock.
