2012 Stock Market contest

Question

Lets try this again..same rules as last year, I will find and bump that thread and see who won.

No penny stocks

Trade in and out three times during the year

No options or leveraged currencies etc

Prices have to be inside the market, during market hours

To participate you have to make the initial pick within the first two weeks of the new year (last year I think it was the first week)

If there are any rules I forgot I will add to the thread and update it.

Any general questions will be answered and the post deleted to try and consolidate the thread.

One other rule that wasnt listed before..you can carry 2 positions like last year.

I found the 2011 thread and the only person who had a winning percentage was platypus owning AAPL and made about 20% return.

This year I hope is better..

bill,Low of the day is pretty fortunate but as long as it isnt taking advantage of a situation then I am fine with it.buck, we have never put a dollar cap on a trade, most people dont put in a 50k long on AAPL or anything, rather just a price per share..so a ROR based on purchase price..which simplifies things.

I guess we can put it in the middle. I have a limit order in real life on both of them lower than that price...Just saw we had to post within first two weeks and would have gotten both of those stock cheaper within 2 days prior if I saw it

That bump in NG helped..I just dont see how Nat gas can go a great deal higher and with those awful prices it will be tough for CHK to make any real money.

They also have almost as much debt as they do market cap, thats kind of scary..

I started hearing ads from them during Buckeye games this past season but been trading it for much longer...my old man wanted his money in Nat gas and silver a few yrs back...turned out to b very smart and this guy doesn&#39;t even have cable...lol
