So lately....they have been bringing in favorites in the first 2-3 races and then WHAM....an obscure longshot wins race #4 and $5 or one of them
So THAT is why I played a PICK4 just now and am playing that $1 picke3 I played earlier

Very windy tonight - Mohawk:
-avoid outside horses unless they are blazers because they get a push from the NW wind in the first turn
-closers who are very fast in last half could surprise so pick fastest backhalf horse
-front speed will dictate getting into top 5 positions off the gate and by the backstretch
Race 1 - very logical that 24567 could win in that group in P5
-#7 has been racing weaker horses in my opinion
-#9 is a blazer who likes to lead and do not be surprised if the flies off the gate and gets a good position
Trie these triactor and Superfecta tickets. I just did:

Race 2 - take 2345 because they all can leave and get position in a 5 horse race (not one horse stands above all)
Race 3 - extremely tactical race in this one.....whomever can get to the lead or the 3-4 positions has a shot but if it is #9 or #10, they would best be advised to get to the lead and not use their horse until the lane where they could catch battling horses by staying on the rail
#3 - KEY potential because it can leave fast and close well in excellent last Qs
#5 - it can leave and get position and has some of the fastest back halves
#7 - same as above but it may not get to the top 4 as there are a lot of aggressive drivers in this one
I think you take 3 and 5 with two of the best TROT drivers with best racing form to win in this wind......and you take 17910 in a PICK3 either starting this race or starting in RACE #1
Race 4 - lots of horse that close or run flat lines > speed with and take 258 ... do NOT like Respect Our Flag with strong wind but if there is a speed battle, this horse is fit enough to pick them off!
STORMALONG #2 facing his easiest field yet! << might KEY this horse on one ticket ....was ready to fire last week but a horse breaking and causing interference screwed Doug McNair's momentum! Jodi Jameson is Mr. Saturday night and I am seriously thinking of wheeling him to win in Race 3 and this race in #4 and then doing a small DOUBLE between them
Race 5 - love 4 horses here > #4 first time Trevor from Billy Davis which is an excellent driver change ...both similar but Trevor has a strong gas pedal when a horse is live....
#5 - has first time Luc Roy and I know the owner and he knows #7 owner too from my hometown so they may have an arrangement to help each other but logically, with Luc Roy this horse is ready to do 152'
#6 - has raced tougher than all of these and is a goo 4 yr old with an excellent Qualifier
#7 - Paul Davies hands the reigns to best driver on the track after winning in London blazing a 156' .....this horse is ready to do 151-152 with JMAC on only 5 days rest

Monday night:
R1 - love #1 and I think Young will try to move this horse after the gate and drive car pull away.....I can see this horse not on the lead but in the TOP 4 off the gate and then a backstretch brush to the top
Figures as well > 4510
Maybe > 29
R2 - 2347810 > all pretty close
Upset: #10 with Shayne Barrington training and won 4 of 6 down at Hoosier last year
R3 - 5 << can make a strong case to KEY #5 for sure and just do an exactor back up 2 / 5 bigger and all other horses / 5 for smaller....there always is a case for a break by a horse so don't go nuts on a big PICK5 with keying a trotter!
R4 - 1578 are very logic
Maybe: 69 with good drivers and racing luck
R5 - 9 should dominate if the horse stays flat > but could break so add 56
Nice ticket with 2 KEYS and covering all bases in other races: 1 / 23478 / 5 / 156789 / 569 > costs $18 and $60 cent PICK3 1 /10 / 5 and = $0.60 1 / 6 horses with All = $8.40
Second P5 ticket > 1245 / 23478 / 5 / 6 horses / 9 > costs $24 and you have #1 in race one on 2 tickets
Total Cost = $51

Lost a couple hundred last night.....could not get connections on pick5, 3 or some supers I tried.....frustrating night!
Saturday - warm weather/dry air and windy from the N or NW so horses that control the front end positions should do well and the occasional closer might win a speed battle and nip horses at the wire
Race 1 - really nice race of new 3 yrs olds .... LIT UP THE WORLD stomped on a few in this group but they really moved fast in their back halfs.....only one other horse that was not in that race in this race....has achieved those back half times and that is the horse JMAC is driving
Legit Key: Luc Roy with #6 SET SHOT which is a $280K yearling with Ian Moore - he stayed with LIT UP and lost by 1 length
Maybe Challenge: 237
Longshot Unknown: #1 - great quali but hard to see this horse beating SET SHOT on first asking in #1 hole when SET SHOT will be on the lead and controlling everything
Race 2 - interesting race > obviously #2 Au Jus Hanover is a top contender with the trainer and back connections on this one who spare no expense to win big races
Could Win Also:
#9 - with great driver and has faced stronger mares than these fillies while being close to winning
#5 - great driver and connections who won a grand circuit race last year and will be better this week
#1 - super impressive and now schooled on this track to race any style / watched race and Jodi just sat on the horse who WANTED TO RACE ANOTHER HALF MILE after crossing the finish line....had all kinds of energy and since its an Aussie horse, it wanted to race longer like they do down there
CAREFUL (use in P3): #3 - needs a race in my opinion and #7 sits on a lot of horsepower but needs a trip, #8 has pedigree from last year with a dangerous driver
Race 3 - just need 178 likely
Shocker: #3 with trainer/owner driving....if there is chaos this horse is capable of passing others that got jammed up in a breaking horses scenario
#6 - raced well last week and has a good trot driver in Cullen << leaning toward putting this horse in
Lost a couple hundred last night.....could not get connections on pick5, 3 or some supers I tried.....frustrating night!

Saturday night horses - Mohawk:
-strong west wind bias about 18 - 20 mph in the face of horses leaving out of the gate and coming down the long stretch
-horse on the outside better be fast to the front or they will be parked
-1st Over on a hot pace might work and same with 2nd Over.....but if well rated on fractions, FRONT SPEED should rule the evening
Race 1 - Figures > 34 and maybe 5 with Doug McNair ....if others win, I don't see it unless these two burn themselves out but I expect Nazare to take the lead and NOT be challenged by the other horses until maybe the last turn and a covered up 2 hole horse like Jack Panic then becomes dangerous with his strong closing speed......
IF YOU THINK THERE WILL BE A SPEED BATTLE BETWEEN 3-4 .....take #7 who will follow #5 and might just pull off a late second wire miracle
-of the 3 outside horses, only Cold Creek Queso could outsprint inside horses to the front from 9 - hole > off 4 weeks however and has not seen warmer weather (LONGSHOT at best) - #10 is a tough horse but you almost never see Travis Cullen win from the #10 position
Race 2 - #6 is a KEY .....BUT.... I am always leerie first race back for an undefeated horse and so ....
PICK3 MUSTS > take 235 with my first race picks and whatever I post in Race 3 as a back up
Race 3 - #3 is a KEY ....and taking 14 days before this race is smart .....the horse will be heavily staked and its best to preserve the firepower for every other week in a 2 yr old and 3 yr old campaign if they are racing on the Grand Circuit.....aside from qualifier races before big stakes finals
Exactor combos > 1478 ....one of those horses will benefit and I like #4 or #8 the most between those 4.....could one of those two beat #3 .....MAYBE ...but unlikely

Race 4 - Everyone is expecting #4 to give #3 Monalishi a scare or win but I don't think that will happen
However, TAKE: #3 an #4 just in case
Sneaky Longshot: #5 Nightingale if #3 breaks and there is traffic trouble
Who else could be in 2nd or 3rd > #1, #2, #5, #9 and I will be doing exactors and Tris with 34 / all those as well as a 34 / 1259/ 34 tri and 34 /1259/ 1259 tri.......... 34 exactor box WILL be the favorite play of the night by bettors
Race 5 - this race is all dependent on trip and positioning
First 4 Positions on the rail > I expect #2 Living the Beachlife with a blow your lungs out performance last week to LEAVE and challenge for 2nd or first position getting through to the 1ST Q.....
Middle 4 Positions off gate > this will be a mad dash between #5, #7 and #8 ..... which will force 1-2 of those horses to get hung .... Billy Davis will move to settle his horse 5th or 6th position off the game.
Who should come out of that leaving group for position? >> #5 Century Inspector and its because, its a well known fact that Jodi Jamieson is probably one of the best first half of a race drivers in the business and he knows what his horse has off the gate and will get to position to rate his horse on the lead..... JMAC ....I would be shocked, would beat him to the front or come first over and try to over take...... THIS SETS THINGS UP for #5 or #2 to win in my opinion down the lane >>> JMAC will likely read the tea leaves and realize his best chance is to grab the 4 or 5 hole and come off a helmet down the lane
TAKE #2 >> if you want to do multiple $ PICK5s
>> if#5 doesn't fire, I like #5 to squeak out a win
> like #8 the least BUT its JMAC and a race he has a strong shot of winning
UPSET: #6 and #9 << only due to the fitness level + last yr top time on 7/8 track fits right in

got it 10x $11.55 so made a double and a little more on the night....did not like too many of the late night races except for that FFA and I took Nijinsky and lost on a double

Cool night at Mohawk tonight with some Meadowlands drivers here .....last year they had difficulty beating local stars who know this track inside out with wind and when to move a horse
60 cent PICK 5 > 2710 / 23457 / 1 / 12 / 25 = $36
20 cent P5 > 2710 / 257 / ALL (7x) / 12 / 25 = $51
GL tonight
No big payouts for me lately but have been winning multiples and sometimes $200 -$350 here and there.....
Lots of short prices coming in but I expect that to change at some point
